This is a short and sweet tutorial on how to bake deliciously chewy and flavorful sourdough bread. This recipe is based on Tartine Bakery's Basic Country Bread recipe. I've changed just a few things with the method - I create an autolyse and add my levain to the autolyse after it rests for four hours. The Tartine recipe calls for adding the levain to the water and no autolyse.
This recipe makes two large loaves that are absolutely delicious! I know you'll love it!
