I made six corners! It took me almost all weekend but I did it! They're amazing! Only 12 1-sided walls and 9 fields to go! Thank you, Wyloch! Your style is awesome!

That makes a nice effect for a wooden floor. Gives it some "class" you don't normally see. Your voice is very clear and patient as you speak in these vids. I appreciate that, myself, as I'm a little hard of hearing so I ofttimes miss or misunderstand what some folks say, but not so with you! Thank you for that!

I agree with other commentators here. The parquet approach to the floor is very ingenious. I love the technique.

was just thinking about how you could use the crafting sticks to make crates pretty easily. maybe do a store room video? that would be great! sure you could make some sacks and barrels 2! Glad to see someone enjoy beer with there game time! cheers from the west coast!

I just made a set of these. However instead of using crafting sticks i just used foamcore to "sculpt" the floor boards. Im not a huge fan of using craft sticks, so i havn't tried it with those. But i would imagine that my way is faster. I had been scouring the internets looking for a way to do my taverns. I like this one the best! Thanks a bunch!

Takes quite a bit of prep work but once you have about 100 popsicle sticks made up and about another 50 cardboard squares cut it goes... still kinda slow but damn do they look good. Professional quality stuff here, well worth the time it takes to make. Not to mention materials required are very cheap.

Finally getting around to making a set of these. Holy cow! making the rock detail in the foam is no easy task I can feel EVERY bone and joint in my hands!!! Wyloch I have a question for you what is the brand / type of blade you use to cut your foundations? It looks like it cuts like a hot light saber through a droid.
@WylochsArmory
@WylochsArmory 8 жыл бұрын
It's just a knife I got from Lowe's home improvement store. And I change the blade somewhat often. It is very, very important to have a fresh sharp blade when cutting foam. It is also very important to cut at a very shallow angle...so, tilt the knife way back as you draw it across. And go slow. That is how you get clean cuts.

It looks good, however, "Basket Weave" was never a floor design, so I think I'll do the floor differently. Of course, I appreciate that your mapping a grid with that design. Your cobblestone looks pretty good. But the way its "stacked" and the colors make me think "field stone." Cobblestone is a flooring material and field stone is a wall material. Sorry, that's the fifth generation bricklayer in me. LOL
@alexjohnston2734
@alexjohnston2734 9 жыл бұрын
aren't you worried about the paper back on the bricks coming off. Would the hot glue work on the foam?

I noticed the popsicle wood planks you did weren't based in black in this video, but you instructed to do so in the last. Or maybe they were? Looks like wood stain over the popsicle stick. Bought the paints tonight.. working on this. Trying to anyways lol

Wyloch sir! You probably already answered this, but chipboard! How does it handle pva and water and sand? Looking to make some various sized forest-bases, (4-10" Long, various shapes). How bout it? Will it warp like Crazy, or is it safe to go ahead and get it wet? Had bad results with cardboard, looking to a Pro-Tip.
@WylochsArmory
@WylochsArmory 4 жыл бұрын
That long, yes it will warp. You can counteract it by painting a thick layer of white glue on the bottom and leaving it upside down to dry for 24 hours.

Do you think it'll be smart to add stuff like velcrow or something to attach the walls to the tile so that it's not limited to the parts that you make?
@WylochsArmory
@WylochsArmory 8 жыл бұрын
Not advised. Won't be very strong, and introduces extra thickness that you have to account for. Easier to simply make what you need and be done with it.

@WolfServant

haha yeah that was a bit vague in my wording. What I mean it the one side has wood and the other side is cobble stone. How would you recommend I go about doing wood for both sides instead of cobble stone on the outside?

The wall must be 1/4" thick. If you use a jumbo popsicle on both sides, those are each 1/16" thick. So you need something in the middle of them that is 1/8". Classic single corrugated cardboard fits the bill perfectly. So, popsicle sticks glued to each side of a strip of single corrugated cardboard
