WOW! It just dawned on me that my ancestors have been showing me my roots for s very long, as I enjoy your cooking. As a Eastern Caribbean, we use leaves like that to make our callaloo stew. It is called *dasheen leaves* and the root, *dasheen*, is in the family of yams or potatoes. What a very small world! Africans use Palm oil, we Caribbeans, use coconut oil... family indeed...

That was excellently done. Keeping the leaf in water for it not to die since you couldn’t cook it that same was a good idea. I like your choice of meat or protein and the baked mackerel fish you added. Pairing it with yam and adding aghusi to the stew is absolutely nice. I just like the way you remove some stew for your second son since he don’t like that particular leaf or vegetable. The outcome is superb. Enjoy your weekend sist❤️

Oh dear!! Some people suggest that Kontomire is poisonous? I'm from Ghana. I stayed in a village in rural Nigeria for about a year in the mid 1980s. Nigerians don't eat Kontomire leaves and they would always encourage my Ghanaian friend and I to pluck the fresh Kontomire leaves from their farms. Perhaps they thought we would fall dead but we had a feast!!
