when i choose sims 4 it says catastrophic failure. do you know how to fix it?

how do you delete it tho? I went into Gshade and clicked on the button to delete the program but when i open my game i still see the little popup at the top of the screen and i'm still able to open the gshade menu. I've tried to go into the ''apps'' category on my computer but Gshade isn't there. I don't know what to do

May 1, 2023 - GShade is currently available for download now. I have been using ReShade, but wanted to update. Feb 7, 2023 - The GShade Link to download the program is currently available. I am unsure why or if this program is still supported. I will try my best to keep you updated but as always, download programs at your own discretion. I do not recommend downloading GShade from 3rd party programs. Anything shown in this video is from my personal experience with this program. I am not qualified to troubleshoot this program or answer questions in regards to GShade, but I will always try my best.

GShade just got outted as putting malware into the installers and applications. You should probably uninstall.

for those who can't find their origin folder either because steam: when you click on the sims 4 in your steam library, you'll see a little cogwheel there that says "manage". it'll open a panel with a sidebar menue where you'll find your "installed files", which will show you where your game folder is once you click "browse". just scroll until you find the folder reading "game" et voilà, you can copy the path right from the folder browser into your gshade installer.

this video honestly couldn't have come at a better time ! I went in my game after the update and my MXAO was not working. I reinstalled, repair... etc, so many times and turns out the update broke the reshade and i didn't even know. ANYWAYS thank you for this tutorial. It was very helpful. I'm certainly going to miss Gshade's shaders. When I heard about the malware thing, I had no idea it was possible to keep the shaders and stuff once I deleted everything. At the moment I'm looking for a few reshade presets again, but wow it feels so weird going back to Reshade after soo long. But i'm adjusting to it.

I still use Gshade! But I also have never updated Gshade so I'm using a very old version. Do what's best for your PC! Reshade still works great

This was a savior! I tried reshade and lots of the presets from simblr had the mxao broken and I couldn't understand why stuff wasn't looking right but this was the solution! Now I can enjoy all those presets with no issue. I also already experienced gshade in another game so bonus points for that, it really is better than reshade at this point to me. Thank you!

Thank you for this. Sadly, it doesn't work for me. I was doing this for TS3, so the steps are the same etc. ... shift+f2 does nothing shift+backspace does nothing fn+shift+f2 turns my airplane mode on/off therefore does nothing The gshade progress bar never even shows up during the game startup for me either. :(

Idk if it’s me but I’ve never personally found the crazy saturated look to be super nice 💀 maybe I’m weird but I’ve always played without ReShade and I’ve never longed for it ever, and now that I play on Mac, I can’t even get ReShade.

Any time I try to download a reshade or gshade it tells me it's being blocked from download because the type of file can harm my device. So how am I even supposed to use this?

@@oshinsims Might want to migrate back to Reshade. GShade was recently caught including malware to their recent releases (it included a payload that forces shutdown your computer without authorization).

I feel like Mac users are always getting the short end of the stick when it comes to gaming mods and addons. Now obviously reshade isn’t mandatory; but it sucks to never have the option :/ I don’t know what makes Mac so much different from PC in terms of certain programs.
