Well, I'm very late to the EdgeTX party having recently bought a TX16S MkII and working with the R86C SBUS for Heli and the S6R 3-axis for Planes. Still have my DX18 Stealth, but I have a feeling that in time Spektrum will dwindle..... maybe.

The gimbal rings are actually 3D printed spacers available here: www.thingiverse.com/thing:4493751 I believe the Jumper T16/T18 and TX16s handles are interchangeable but I have not tried it myself.

It cannot be hard to do. Did you get it to bind? If so, you probably just need to put a 3 position switch on Channel 5 or Channel 6.

Nahh, take the back off. Remove 4 gimbal screws, pull beauty plate out. Add spacers and reverse the process. It's fairly self-explanatory once you're in the radio.

You can get colored switch nuts for the toggles.

Why are you considering the T18 Pro over the T18 Lite? Pro offers 2 things over Lite: RDC90 Gimbal Sensors and R9. The use of R9 forces the use of an internal PCB based 2.4ghz antenna and the RDC90 sensors are mechanical pots with no known advantage over hall sensors--in fact because they're mechanical, I argue they're a worse option. Watch this: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pWe4k415gNiqh6M If you want a T18, I would take the Lite version. Keep the external 2.4ghz antenna and hall sensors, then add a TBS Crossfire for 915Mhz if you need long range. If you don't need long range you can skip the Crossfire.
