Karhee is a very tasty and popular dish made with split peas powder and other ingredients. It is a traditional dish made especially during Divali and other Hindu festivals. It is eaten with rice or roti and tastes better when the rice is soft. It contains pholourie in there which we refer to as "Boulders"

INGREDIENTS for PHOLOURIE
1 1/2 cup grind dhal/split peas powder
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tbsp green seasoning
1 tbsp grind garlic
finely chopped onion
1 pimento pepper
1 tbsp geera
1 tbsp curry powder
1/2 tsp tumeric powder
Salt to taste
Water
Ingredients for Sauce
4 heaps of grind dhal (eating spoon)
6 cups water
1/2 of a medium size onion
green hot pepper (Optional)
1 tsp garlic
1 tbsp curry powder
1 tsp tumeric
1/2 tsp geera
6 leaves curry leaves

2 tbsp oil
1 tbsp ground geera at the end
salt to taste
