Made a set of these this week, completely outclasses my Nordost cabling.. I used the Neutrix pro plugs and some really good quality silver solder. The detail and soundstage is first class … just need to make a few more sets now 👍🏻

Well, I've made them up, and am now 24 hours into burning in. I did use a cotton sash cord for the core, and 0.6mm silver filled soft copper, with a spare set of Furutech RCA's. I can only say that I'm astonished! They make the usual £500 Furutech interconnects seem lifeless. What started as an interesting exercise has blown my mind. It improves on a pair of Cardas Cross on my system too. I hope this is not my imagination and they continue to develop. Thank you so much! Winner!

I have tried your design (tweaked it a bit), and they sound excellent. Especially vocals are so present. Using them on my synthesizer almost blew my head off in a very good way lol I will keep this design in mind, you have 'sound' logic on cables :) thank you ! It's quite fun to think about better designs and I have no doubt this will sing. Kudos from Holland!

This has been an interesting project. But there is no one perfect interconnect. Everyones system is different. If you have a bright system these will make it brighter - which you may not like. If you have a more laid back system, these interconnects will add bit of top end sparkle and detail. Personally I like them for some things and not for others. Great with CD in my case. Maybe I'll try the OCC Copper ones too. Keep up the good work!

Thank you! Have you ever experimented with silver vs copper wire? I’ve been told silver wire is meant to be a lot brighter than copper, but to the best of my knowledge I’ve never actually listened silver wire interconnects before. By the way, the guy that runs PS Audio, the amp maker, has done an interesting video on interconnects where he describes a very simple flat design he swears by. Seems to me that your design is basically the same as his, but with a clever twist (pun very much intended).

Brijac ah, Paul McGowan’s design isn’t foil - it’s two strands of wire separated by the width of a piece of masking tape. The separation greatly reduces parasitic inductance. Your design is much more practical, though - by twisting the separated strands. It’s genius, frankly, and I wish I’d thought of it.

Hello Tweakerman! I am going to order some more wire and was wondering if you could explain to me why you used to use 0.8mm and now are using 0.4mm. What is the difference with interconnects? Thanks in advance!
@tweakerman
@tweakerman 3 жыл бұрын
Hello Peter, I use 0.8mm for digital interconnects, 0.4mm for analogue interconnects, I find 0.4mm 10% Silver cladded copper to sound the best, if you use pure silver wire, I find 0.5 to be the best size, I'm always working on new idea's & new ways of improving my design and the way my cable sound, so thing may change with new video's, thanks for watching

Well I’ve been using shielded Chord Shawline interconnects for 6 months and was thinking of spending bigger money on better. I had two pairs of Audioquest Ruby and Quartz. I’ve taken the shielded braid from the quartz and wrapped things back together... wow things have come to life .since then I’ve made two pairs of pure silver unshielded cables to run from Aries Vega G2 combo and AVM power amp they are more open and seem faster than ever .Very surprised with the results and happy. Hi, you can you use any size rope with reason, if you increase the wire size, you will get more low frequencies (Bass), I find 0.4mm to sound the best across all frequencies, but my ears are different to yours, why not experiment, you might find different sizes sound better to you, I would personally go to 0.6 from 0.4, give it ago, let me know the results
