I tend to be extreme. I stopped working out 2 years ago (hmm right about the time of my relationship - weird ) and gained 40 pounds, a lot through beer and party. Since 6 weeks I hit the gym like a maniac 6x week, and I walk minimum 25k steps a day, and eating at a 50% caloried deficit but insanely clean food. IAs of this morning, I lost 32 pounds in 6 weeks. I'm working my ass off to hit my macros so I hopefully don't lose a lot of muscle. So far, my strength and weights have been increasing almost at the same rate as when I have taken other extended workout pauses. I have to literally force myself to stay out of the gym on day 7

acer computer Don’t worry mate. You will get to a point where you just don’t care what she thinks. She’ll still pop into your head every now and then but rarely, and you won’t care. I am thinking like you in your comment after somebody wonderful broke up with me after 12mths, for silly reasons. But I also had a 10yr thing that ended 3yrs ago and I wouldn’t piss on her if she was on fire. You’ll be fine. You’ll go from hurting minute to minute, to hurting day to day only at some points, then you’ll have a bad day in a full week, etc. until you realise you’re actually doing ok and made it through the super shit bit. Then you won’t care. Took me 11mths after 10yr relationship. Keep going!

It's almost liberating to think about her actually living in a reality where I never even existed. Not saying this in a martyr kind of way. Just clean and pure. Almost as if I could just erase those almost ten years. Five years with her, and the four years it's taken to recover from her. Of course, I'm human, so there are still times when it would be nice to think that I cross her mind from time to time, and not in a negative, regretful light. But it's also kind of freeing to wipe that slate clean, almost as if being reborn. Does this make sense to anyone reading this? Maybe not. She moved on a long time ago. I finally am moving on. Still have work to do. I hope she's not having any feelings of regret, guilt, remorse, wondering, pity, shame, etc. Let her be free too. She couldn't help being who she was, and perhaps still is, burning through relationship after relationship after relationship. She has her lessons to learn. Her path. She did the best she could at the time. As I know now, looking back at all she said and did, that she was deeply insecure, immature, and ego-driven, selfish, entitled, blaming and shaming. But when anyone is like that, you can be sure there is a lot of unresolved anger, sadness and fear behind all of that. I saw a lot of that even when we were together and tried to talk with her about all that, but there was never any breakthroughs. Doesn't matter now. Her life is hers, and hers alone. It was NEVER my job to fix her, heal her, make her find answers even when we were together, and certainly not now. Ha ha.

On day 18 of no contact. In a few days it'll be a month since we spoke 😢 I miss him so much. The breakup was relatively amicable, but I did "chase" him a bit. Not begging, but more to remind him what we had. It's a complicated situation because he lives with his ex and they have a kid together. He prioritizes his son over everything else and he has special needs. So I get it. If he was selfish he'd probably be in my bed rn. I still have to continue no contact. He even blocked me because he couldn't stay away, he couldn't function at work and his son suffered. So he doesn't want to talk because "Then I'd get in my car (to talk in private) and once I'm in my car I'm already on my way to see you". He's scared the mother will take the child far away as she has threatened. Any advice in this special situation would be appreciated.

Diane H 3yrs ago I suggested a trial separation out of sheer frustration with my ex of 10yrs. My ex was in tears saying she didn’t want to break up. I said neither do I but I’ve suggested relationship counselling (which she laughed at, saying there was “no problems”) and every time I asked why stuff was like this or like that, I literally got an “I don’t know why” EVERY SINGLE TIME. So I suggested the trial separation so we could go on dates again and try put the spark back there as we’d lived together 8yrs too. I’d even said if she doesn’t want to be with me then just tell me, it’s ok. But she was so convincing she wanted me. She decided she would move out as had spare room at her mum’s. She cried as she left that night, saying she loves me and again didn’t want to break up. 2wks later, she wouldn’t even hold my hand on our ‘first’ date. Her attitude had completely changed. 1wk after that we broke up and I had to do it for her coz she was so inept at opening her mouth. I asked her why she didn’t want to be with me all of a sudden and got the same “I don’t know why”. I pressed her for a reason and she actually said, “Errrrrm... I dunno... you made me watch X-files?” as though that was some sort of deal breaker. After TEN YEARS, that’s ALL I got 😆 you couldn’t even make that shit up. She was also a fucking coward. She had plenty of opportunity to leave if she was unhappy, I never begged her to be with me, I only tried to make it work but got zero communication back. I had a feeling the only reason she didn’t leave or allow me to walk away, yet showed less effort than me in trying to make the relationship what it once was, was because she is so fucking incapable of being on her own (I was a rebound bf that we got 10yrs out of). Within 2mths breakup after 10yrs, she was already with someone else. I suspect the guy was chancing his luck as soon as he knew she was single (she worked with him) and she immediately knew she had an escape route. Some people are just messed up (and you don’t know half the shit I tried to forgive in the last 3yrs). She never deleted me from social media. I joined a gym, lost 2st, hiked to Everest Base Camp in 11days after previously not being able to run for a bus without dying. I was in the best shape of my adult life after 10mths and felt so good about myself after feeling absolutely destroyed and betrayed by my best friend. I’ve looked back over my own faults and worked hard to try and improve on them because nobody is perfect and I honestly think I am a better person for the whole shitty experience and somebody else will get the benefit of that (I’m on here because I met somebody wonderful 12mths ago but she just can’t handle being in a relationship - I suspect she has undiagnosed aspergers like her mother, and I don’t want to win her back so much as coach Lee just gives good advice of keeping your self-esteem up in hard breakup situation) and I’m glad now that my previous ex had shown her true colours no matter how shitty I felt at the time. Good luck to her being that kind of person and being a morally bankrupt coward.

Peace Man Time is a healer for sure. IF you significant other has left you then One thing you must ask yourself is this, Why chase someone who doesn't want you anymore. Move on! Listen to Coach Lee. I went through a rough breakup last year. I watched every video Coach Lee put out. Sure enough, your ex will come back, curious as to why you haven't been pursuing. It may take a few weeks. It could take months. But they will come back checking, usually because their new romances haven't panned out. At that point, it's up to you if you want to deal with that person. In my case, I decided not to and to move on.

After a month of NC i really thought that i wont be able to be myself again, i watched every video you have and followed your advice. The next thing i know, he messaged me and apologized for what he did.... before the break up, i begged, pleaded i did all of the red flags ‘cause it was so sudden... i even contacted his circle of friends i was that desperate for answers since he blocked me everywhere. My birthday yesterday, he’s been calling and texting but I wasn’t replying. He asked a friend to convince me to join their party coz it’s my birthday. I left my house knowing he will come, true enough he did! He was so disappointed I wasn’t home. You know what. She told me to pack my stuff in the middle of the night, 6 days ago. Yesterday, i was feeling super vulnerable, so i thought i’d send an apologetic message to account for my actions (biggest mistake ever DONT DO THIS!) and she’s ignored it. Everything was fine always in the relationship, but as Coach Lee says she doesnt see a future with me right now. As she said. We broke up 3 days ago in peace, because Coach Lee told us not to be cold and rude. We both agreed if the fate wants us together in the future we won't resist. So 3 days of no contact now... It is hard, so hard... I'm watching Lee's videos, movies, i play games, yesterday finally I could do some workout. Going through the breakup process can definitely put a toll on you mentally and physically. You need to undo the routine you had with this person and try to rediscover your individuality.
