I use an old mini crock pot. I don't have a wood stove so this way I don't have to worry about it burning on my stove. Love this!!

I rented a place with those old huge radiators. Winter, I kept a bowl of cinnamon sticks and cloves on them all the time. It added a bit of humidity plus smelled great

Thank you! I'm going to get some rosemary and make a simmer pot when I get back from the grocery later (its 2AM, not doing it now, lol). I'll do rosemary, rosehips, grapefruit and oranges, cinnamon, cloves, and star anise (that was a great suggestion!). I may add allspice as well. Before it gets too strong, I may go ahead and take some as a tea, it sounds tasty!😅 I was actually thinking about doing a simmer pot so this is a great idea!

I love simmer pots! I have enough supplies for a couple of them but YIKES! Cranberries can’t be found in central Virginia!!! I don’t even have any to make cranberry sauce….Never had a Christmas without it even though we always have ham! Apparently the harvest wasn’t as good this year as usual? Who woulda thunk it? I was going to get 5 or 6 bags. Use 1 for Christmas and the rest to freeze for making “Craisins” and more potpourri….I guess I need to go prune our little cedar tree that I’ve been trying to get hubs to cut down since it’s in a very awkward spot on our property…..REPRIEVE! I’m so devastated…..no cranberry sauce for Christmas dinner unless we get really lucky! 🥲

I made these last year and they were a hit! This year I saved stems when I harvested fragrant herbs like lavender, rosemary, sage, and lemon verbena and I'm going to experiment with adding them to the simmer. Sounds good in theory. Thank you, as always, for sharing your knowledge and creativity. Happy holidays. ✨

Years ago, I had a wood stove in the living room and lived it. I would put a simmering pot on it. Also, I loved putting a Dutch oven with soup or stew on it and let it simmer all day. The house smelled good, and the family had a meal to eat at the end of the day. Now my wood stove is in the basement.

Hello, My name is Max Grimes. I watch your channel all the time. I believe in herbal medicine but my wife don't. She has Parkinson's Disease and it is getting worse. We are both in our late fifty's. I love her so much. I was wondering if you can tell me what to do to treat it?

My mother took fluphenazine and it was miraculous. She was treated by MHMR. Fluphenazine was expensive though. She would get one injection per month. My mom always thought that we were messing her up. That drug made it harder for her to slip and play with us. Prayers for your situation Max.

How would you recommend adding cranberries to a simmer pot for a gift?
@Romans828girl
@Romans828girl 9 ай бұрын
I think I would just make it a refrigerated gift. I would put it in a quart jar instead of a pint, and add my cranberries and my cedar or juniper sprigs to the jar as well, and tell them to store it in the fridge and use it within a week or two. Or you could use dried cranberries.

Haven't seen mamma or grams for a bit, Hoping you all have a Wonderful Christmas. Hay I have an herb aroma therapy question, my mother is going to make a few flaxseed microwave heating pads what would be some good herbs for aroma that wouldn't be to strong? Also is flaxseed the best seed to use?

Could you suggest what roses I can look for that have rose hips? I have knockout roses but never see rose hips on them. Thankyou for any suggestions. I'm in So Md, zone 7. I am going out to get some cedar right now to start a simmer pot minus the rose hips.😁Happy day to you.
