Many thanks Tony. Yes I think the review at the end of what I would do differently, is often the most valuable part of the videos. I'm hoping that it is a demonstration that we can all learn from just trying things out and that my videos will encourage people to have more confidence and just have a go. Hope that you have subscribed.

Thank you so much. I've set my system up and water is coming out of the 2.5mm holes. I have a leak at the timer end (bought on Amazon via your link) so will check out your leaks video... Great work April!

Thanks Chris. If you are going away don't forget to top up your butt and recharge your timer batteries before leaving to recharge yours. Ho ho. Hope it works and hope you subscribed and liked. - I always forget to ask in the videos.

This is a very good did. I'm trying to figure out how to use some of my old hoses. I also have a rain barrel that I'm not using so this is perfect. Thank you for the share. It was very helpful.

Thanks Liz. I also had some old hose and couldn't bear to throw it out. So satisfying to find a use for it. Love your gardening tips.

I love this video and am half way through setting up my own system following your advice. All going well except that I can’t get the cane topper to fit inside the hose. Perhaps I need it hotter but it seems the topper is just too big for the hose diameter. Wondered if you had any other ingenious ideas!

Hi Sarah, firstly thank you for watching and yes of course there are other ideas- my head is always fizzing with them!!! Firstly the easy one: do nothing, lay your hose out with the holes made and see how much water makes it to the very end, you can reduce the amount that makes it if you just have the end of the hose going uphill a bit and have it up against a plant so that the trickle that emerges waters that plant. If that doesn't work because too much water is making it to the end try a cork from a wine bottle, you can always trim it down a bit with a craft knife ( cutting down on to a board and away from your fingers). If it leaks a bit that doesn't matter because that leak will water the end plant. The cork will also slightly increase the pressure in the hose and therefore the sprinkles that you get emerging from it back towards the tap. Or if this is making too much water sprinkle just turn the tap at the butt down a bit. Hope this helps- where there's will and all that. Let me know how you get on, we will crack this between us.

You are genuinely the most wonderful person! I’ll let you know how I get on

This is great. The pressure looks very good. Can you say how high the water butt is and how long the hose is in total?
@BecomingCreative3 жыл бұрын
Hi there Tony, I have just been in the garden with my measuring tape for you. The water butt is sitting on one of the usual stands and measures 32cm from ground level. The hose is just a bit I had lying around the garden and measures very approximately 10 m. No physics calculations involved in the making of this video just a bit of gung ho having a go. Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed it. PS, I would say that the most important measurement is actually the water lever in the butt. If you let it get too low the pressure will drop. So if no rain, or you are about to go away for a couple of weeks, top it up.

That's really useful, thanks.
