honestly i really not sure about this one, i'am just worried with those game crashes, i think i should ask: would you know why game crashes while you are choosing a vinyl? like i would give a advice before you would do a custom vinyl, make sure to have a backup files before you would modify something
@ibrahimawais93563 жыл бұрын
Those crashes are because of TexEd. It's just unstable. As for why it does that, I wouldn't know. But the two ways to fix it to make them stable or basically not crash at all, are to either use Binary, or the Texture Compiler here: nfs-tools.blogspot.com/2010/01/nfsu2mw-texture-compiler-usage.html That Compiler is what was used for Pepega V2 to add 66 new community vinyls. But I used TexEd in the vid because its the easiest to use, and at the time of making, I didn't actually know how to use said compiler.

Hello, I am trying to making a vinyl for an EM1 Civic (a mod car) but when I opened the debug file inside was the debug file of a Renault Clio :/ (since the Civic replaced the Punto and even the vanilla Punto has a debug file of Clio) when I double checked the debug file in-game it was all over the place, which made it even more difficult for me to make a vinyl for this car. Can you suggest any solution?
@ibrahimawais93563 жыл бұрын
If the car originally didn't have vinyl support then it's an annoying process of having to fix it manually via a 3d program such as Blender. Which if you happen to have any experience of, then the solution is that the UV map of the car's main material has to be edited and manually assigned to be turned into a debug. If that doesn't make sense to you then explaining it would be nearly impossible. It's one of those things where if you know how to do it then it doesn't take long but if you don't know how to do it then the hard part is actually learning it. Ultimately it's the responsibility of the person who made the car to also give vinyl support. And if they skipped out on that then having to do it yourself is going to be very very difficult.

@@ibrahimawais9356 Thanks a lot for you reply! I'm currently working on ripping off the extra 3d parts of the car and keeping only the parts essential to make the vinyl debug file in Blender. It was tough since I have no experience in Blender and the parts were oddly named and put together, but I'm learning. I've tried doing the UV export but the front of the car was just a line and the entire set of bumpers and side skirts was folded and missing, not appearing as it should be. Can you suggest anything about how I can lay the 3d model down flat and get all the parts properly visible on the UV map?
@ibrahimawais93563 жыл бұрын
@@r4hul_type_r Ah alright, I'll try my best. Alright so the way UV's work is they're essentially a map telling how a 3d face should take on an appearance from a 2d, and often square, texture file. Normally with basic shapes the UV's are already mapped but sometimes when edits are made to the actual 3d mesh then those UV's need updating. You're saying you only see a line, meaning that the mesh itself was updated but the UV was not. But it's a simple fix. Simple just...repetitive. It can take a while to get working properly. In edit mode if you select any lines or vertices or faces, you can press U to show the UV menu. First go to the UV Editing tab (The fourth tab on the top) then on the viewport on the right go to edit mode and select the mesh you want to edit. You can try hovering your mouse over a specific part and pressing L to see if that specific part gets selected. Depends on the mesh. If you're unlucky you'll have to make the selection yourself. Assuming you might go through with this, this paragraph should be the one you re-read for instructions: On the right side, in edit mode, select the mesh you want to fix the UV map for. Press the Tilde Key (Under Escape), and choose the appropriate view. You also want to make sure Orthographic View is enabled. With your mouse still hovering on the right side (A lot of things can change just based on where your mouse currently is, even if you haven't clicked anything. Hence why I say hovering), press U. It'll show the Unwrap Menu. In this situation your best friend is the Project From View option in that menu. It edits the UV layout to be based on how you're looking at the mesh. Hence why the earlier step for the view was important. Once its unwrapped, it'll show on the left. You can press L to select that 'island' of vertices (At least that's what I think they're called). And then you can position them accordingly to a blank debug. Repeat until the entire paintable area of the car is done. There are, a few things I should tell you though. The first being that any changes you make in those models won't show up in the game unless you actually use cartoolkit to bring them back in. And if you don't know how to use cartoolkit...then well I do have an entire tutorial for how to make a car mod. But it is a HUGE hassle if you're just new. It can take at least a few hours and a lot of pain to understand how that works. The second being that you would end up having to do this for every single direction (Top, Left, Right, Rear, Front) for every single bodykit. So the more the bodykits the more you would have to do this. It gets very repetitive very quickly. In fact this is the whole reason why adding Damage to cars is such a huge pain because it then multiplies that with 6 more parts. The last being something to do with editing other people's mods. Cartoolkit can open any .BIN files and allow you to reverse engineer them. But it makes it a hassle in doing so, because if names aren't followed the exact same pattern as vanilla cars, then they end up with weird names, as you might have noticed. Cartoolkit turns them into Hexadecimal formats. This is a reason why reverse engineering a mod can be very frustrating, as only through trial and error can you figure out which name means what. Figuring out the names is an extremely extremely long and tedious process and you would need to have a lot of patience to deal with it. The point I'm trying to make is, what you want to do is definitely doable. But it's a long road ahead for something so simple, because you can't avoid learning everything else. You basically have to learn everything just do be able to do this one thing. Which really sucks but that's just the way it is.
