The roof, the roof, the roof is on fire! I have been looking forward to these roofing guides. Roofs are tough in Valheim and it is great to get the advice of a master builder!

this game needs more roof pieces :D Like a smaller one as the small floor piece and different angles. that 26degree and 45 is good, but like 60 would be awesome too :D

Adding a roof eve line is actually good for protecting the foundation. Without it, water runs right off the roof and down the walls, softening the soil that is supporting the home. Homes look the way they do for a reason.

What I really want in the game, though mod or patch, is the ability to make sod houses. Living roofs were a thing in Viking culture.

Any tips for build around spawn? Noone has any builds there and it's like I'm the only one who's like "yeah, tiny spawn island to make this game stupid hard for myself, let's go!!!!" So yeah, any ideas?

How do you fill in the front and back of the roof? There isnt any long triangular pieces I can use to fill it
@9byte Жыл бұрын
To use corner pieces you will need to use the same angle roof piece on both sides of the corner. You can then fill the inside corners with an i-corner of the matching angle or outside corners with an o-corner of the matching angles.

Another mistake you should point out is roofs running into each other or “M” shaped roofs. I see them everywhere, and they make me cringe. In real life rain water would cause the roof collapse because you’re just creating a giant gutter in the middle of it.

lol both roofs looked no different to me in the beginning. I had to replay that part like 4 times.

Not everyone wants to sit and have to bore through a video when they may be learning, or new to these things. the brain needs time to rest and soak in the information. I see this as a great series for people wanting to further their building skills but might not know where to start. Its also worth noting that an overload of information is overwhelming and the person who is watching might only retain 1-3 bits of focused information, whereas TFG's video here demonstrates a few examples shortly, yet effectively, and doesn't overload me, the viewer. Hopefully this helps you understand the reasoning of why he may have chosen to segment his series this way, although is possible I am 100% wrong.

yeah, but, why???? I mean, I guess I'm not playing in creative mode, so it seems a little cray cray to waste resources making a roof in a game look "real", but ok, thanks.
@Nick-jf7ku Жыл бұрын
why would we care if a roof in a game that's no even close to looking real is more realistic ? its just personal preference your not right and others are wrong ... get over yourself..
