How to make your team more collaborative | Björn Jilsén | TEDxSSE

Jilsén has experienced various types of leaderships in his carrier as a handball professional player and coach. What he saw had oftentimes much room for improvement, and made him fascinated to study it further. Jilsén gives his point of view on how leaders can improve their team's performance by utilizing the full potential of member's strenghts, abilities - and views. Björn Jilsén, a Swedish former handball player and coach, has played in various professional Swedish teams as well Spain, Germany and Switzerland, competing in world champoinships and olympic games. Currently a leadership coach, Jilsén hopes to develop leadership among teams, organizations and companies. Swedes tend to approach decision-making with a highly inclusive and collaborative style, which can lead to extended timelines. While this approach fosters a strong sense of ownership and buy-in, it can be less suited to the rapid pace required in a fast-growing corporate environment.
