Ive never been in any relationship for 30yrs but as I concentrated more on serving the lord, he brought different people in my circles whom i purely shared the love of God to but in the process ive found the one who the lord has led me to pursue, we had grown closer as sister and brother in the past years which made it easier to progress to the level of dating for marriage. It's important to grow more in the lord in the season of singleness as you trust him to bring you the right person in the right timing but you ought to be ready for it.

For all the other ADHD peeps like me who need to skip around and back and what not😂, here are some stamps☺️: 1:32 You have to put the desire for marriage in it’s proper place, strive for contentment in singleness and stop idolizing marriage 2:31 Don’t try to not think about this person being your future spouse, rather, focus on what you should think when you meet a new person 6:38 Focus on living in the moment, being present and doing physical activities that engage you in the here and now 9:06 Instead of wondering if every new Christian single you meet will be your future spouse, you could assume every new person you meet won’t be your spouse one day Great stuff Mark! Very very insightful☺️

Good message! I started praying for a husband 20 years ago and I struggled with this exact issue for the first many years. Looking at every man as the possible “one” and dreaming something up in my mind that never happened. I finally came to the place after many years that I knew I could no longer do this. It had caused so much pain to my heart and at times caused me to be angry with God even though none of it was His fault. I no longer see every single man has a potential partner and I have avoided a lot of pain. I’m 20 years in and still waiting but it feels much better to wait without the unnecessary pain! Thanks for the video!

Boundaries for yourself is so important. If you spill your beens about being so in love with a person too quickly you could be seen as manipulative. One can feel manipulated by these consistent overtures of love and affection too soon. I was also accused of not loving that person because I didn't respond in the same way so soon in the relationship. Love grows it doesn't just pop up. You need to spend time with a person and get to know them and feel secure with them.

This video definitely relates to me. I’m only 25 but I’m starting to feel more and more nervous that marriage will never happen. I actually only know of one girl that’s a Christian who would be dateable for me. I feel like as a Christian, you have a lot less options since you must marry another Christian. This girl I like at my church I admittedly don’t know very well, but she is very Godly. We both volunteer a lot but our paths never seem to cross. We’ve only had very few interactions with each other. I feel like if God wanted me to be with her, He would have our paths cross in some kind of way so that we could get to know each other more. I don’t know who else I could possibly marry. If it’s not her, then it must be some girl I haven’t met yet, but for some reason, despite all the volunteering I do, I never meet Christian girls around my age. That girl who goes to my church is literally the only one, and I feel the pressure and anxiety if I try to talk to her. I don’t even know if she is single, but I have never seen her with any guy. But she does have a lot of Christian friends and some of them are guys which makes it seem unlikely to me that things would work out. I feel like it’s just wishful thinking on my part. Please pray for me that God will reveal something to me soon. If God actually gave me this girl in the future, I don’t think I would ever doubt God again. I feel like it would be the most miraculous thing He could do for me.
@johnlocke46706 жыл бұрын
I was 17 when I went on my first date, had my first girlfriend and first kiss. We held hands too but never did anything beyond that. This was the only relationship I've ever been in beyond a first date, but it only lasted a few months. It was over the summer between my Junior and Senior year of highschool. This girl I dated was actually an atheist, and I wasn't a Christian at the time. I never grew up in church or heard the gospel. But looking back, this girl was a bad influence on me and she influenced me to be an atheist. She broke my heart(it was the worst feeling imaginable). And so don't be too sad about not having ever dated. You're being spared of experiencing what it's like to have your heart broken. What's ironic, is that the heart-break I went through is actually what initially led me to become a Christian in the first place. There were other factors as well, but that was the first spark that led to a chain of other events to where I am now. Now Jesus is the center of my life wheras 7-8 years ago, I didn't even believe in God. So looking back I can see how that God used that heart-break to draw me towards Him. Even though I wasn't a Christian for the first 18-20 years of my life, I'm still a virgin. I've been able to save myself for marriage despite not having Christ in my life for nearly 20 years(although I wished I could have saved my first kiss for marriage). Sadly, there aren't a lot of men like me 25 years old who can still say they are virgins. What's unusual is that there really isn't anything about me that I think would make me unattractive. I've had lots of older women tell me that they are shocked that I'm still single. I'm tall, fit, athletic, and have a 145 IQ. My pastor told me that I'm one of the nicest person he's ever met, have a huge heart, a huge desire to serve and love others, and am very reliable and dependable. I can teach the hardest math classes. I even taught natural theology at my church(arguments for the existence of God) and other christian apologetics material. I have a lot of talents, and so why on earth am I still single??? It makes no sense to me. My pastor told me I have the "gift of uniqueness." I've never heard of that before, but he says that God may have someone very specific for me since I'm not a normal person. The girl I like at my church on the other hand, has been a Christian her whole life. She grew up at church, grew up in youth camps etc. She's even the worship leader at our church. I'm kind of worried that she may not want to pursue a marriage with me partly because I used to be an atheist even though I'm genuinely a Christian now. Although most people in my church(including her) I haven't told them about my past atheism. My pastor knows about it and a few others. I'll be praying for you that God will bring the right person in your life. You are still 17 and so you got plenty of years. God sometimes lets us go through trials so we can grow in faith and in our relationship with Him.

Amen, we can't treat any one better then another one because of what they work in or age or guessing that's the one. Cause someone you just met is a stranger. You have to see as you be yourself. How that person is for who they are. As you keep knowing them and see thing or questions you had with in yourself being answer.Your going to realize how the person is. That's going to let you know if you could ever see yourself more then a friend in the future. Great advice given there. It's always a blessing.God blend you.📙📙📙

I made an idol out of my current relationship and I think that is part of the reason that it didn't work out. Like a lot of divorced people, I want to be very sure about a person before I would ever consider remarrying again. I didn't like how obsessed I got about the outcome of the relationship. I definitely had to reframe the parameters of the relationship and get back to putting Jesus first. I don't know if things are "meant to be" but I guess I just want to find love inside the safety that a Christian realationship offers.
