Tim, Ive been following you for years now. Back around 2009, I was watching a video by Vince Delmonte, who is a Canadian bodybuilder and fitness model. He actually recommended your book to his followers. I’ve tried many diets before slow carb and some after. I always come back to slow carb because it’s the most sustainable and easy to follow. I still come back to your videos from time to time for reference or a reminder. I hope you’re doing well and thank you for writing that book!

My journey on the 4 hour body? 280 to 160. Period. 30lbs a month... gone. Ferris changed my life for the better and continues to do so. Thanks Tim.
@bakedutah84116 жыл бұрын
Pez Pez, a year on, could you give an update? Have you kept the weight off? 120lbs loss at 30lbs a month is not a life change; it’s only a four-month change, maybe five or six if your loss rate slowed. So, how how you’re doing now is important info. More to the point, it would be great to hear in another 1, 2, and 5 years. Only then can you begin to conclude something life changing has happened. Not to denigrate your achievement dude; very well done. But stay vigilant. I’ve been there.

@dark nath I didn't see any responses to your question (even though it's a year later lol), but so far since I've been on Slow Carb, I've routinely had things like Bratwurst and Italian Sausage and I've had no trouble losing weight even having those things in my diet

I was one of those women who lost one hundred pounds. Thanks for being kind to me when I introduced myself to you on BART in 2015. Women can do it. I did. I focused on measurements first. Then weight when my measurement numbers dove down. Keep going. This will be proven to be the best way for women particularly to lose weight, balance their hormones, and prove "professional nutritionists" wrong.

NGL - Cheat days *completely* changed my life. Before 4-hour-body, I couldn't stick to any diet long enough to see improvements. Now, on Tim's slow-carb-diet, anytime I feel the urge to binge during the week, I simply make a list of the items I crave and make sure to eat 'em all on Saturday. You can literally have the best of both worlds and still keep the pounds off.

Melissa, can you tell from the book how much garlic per dose or per day? The only thing I see is that he links on his website to a garlic supplement that is 650 mg per capsule. So, should we infer 650 4X per day? There's a stack sold on amazon that only has 500 mg total per day. Any insight is greatly appreciated.

I lost 23 of body fat in 3 weeks the first time I tried 4HB. I fell off the wagon when I started working 6 days a week with 4 double shifts; no time to meal prep, too much coffee, and a nearby snack machine. It works, but for me, meal prep was key.
@tr3der7 жыл бұрын
Tim, so glad you revisited 4HB and Cheat day. Been doing it 5 years, lost 30 lbs in first 3 months, never looked back. Quick 2 questions: 1) On cheat day, can you substitute orange juice instead of grapefruit juice? 2) Only thing miss during week is Lattes. Is it bad to have 1 each day during week? Thanks and love your stuff!

@JinJiD7 жыл бұрын
Greg, I certainly don't know the answer to your question, but considering you have been following the diet for 5 years, you can try to incorporate those into your diet and you can see how that affects the results by yourself. I think something tim tries to teach us, is to experiment and find our own answers :D. Since that's how he learned all this himself, trying things out and drawing conclusions. Worst thing that could happen in your case is that you gain a few lbs for a couple of weeks, which you'll lose soon enough.

I'm 185 %13 body fat I want to get to that %8-9 fat range. I do slow carb with intermittent fasting. My Pagg supplements come in the mail tomorrow, I think I was overeating healthy food for the first 20lbs I lost so I'm cutting that back a bit. I haven't done any damage control on my cheat day and I've been overeating cheat days. I think I'm gonna limit cheat days to once every two weeks or just a once weekly cheat meal. I am considering adding in a full 24 hour fast after the cheat day. I've done stricter diets before I'm not worried about the itch scratching thing too much.

I tried a low carb and a full keto diet (not at the same time). Didn't work for me. Now it's a slow carb plus intermittent fasting which worked for me at the end. That way I achieved ketosis more often and longer as in my keto diet and my fat/weight droped some kg in just a few weeks. I'm now in my cheat day and love both, the cheat day and the actual slow carb diet. You can try the same. If it works for you, nice but try everything out to find what suits you best. The slow carb method along with cheat days definitely seems like that middle ground that makes sense to me.. I wanted to try low carb or keto, but it just seemed to restrictive and I questioned my discipline since my dietary habits aren't the "cleanest" now.. What good is it if I can't be consistent and adhere to the diet to make it a lifestyle change..?? This slow carb with cheat days seems a lot more feasible and realistic for someone who is used to eating lots of carbs.. And bad carbs as well..

Saw this video while digging into my first meal of cheat day... now I'm more pumped than ever to eat a pint of ice cream in like three hours. I've always been somewhat skinny - fat loss wasn't the issue, just healthy eating in general was the goal. Slow Carb is the first diet that helped me feel like I'm truly eating healthy. I look forward to every meal knowing it'll be good fuel for my body, no guilt at all about my food habits anymore. Thank you!

Very insightful on this. I've been doing keto for 10 months now, and have been leary to do a full on cheat day. This makes me feel more comfortable, especially since my fat loss seems to have stalled, and I seem to be getting more early evening keto fogs too. Since you're on the revisting side of things lately, might I suggest how Simple & Sinister may intersect with Occam's protocol? Testing that out for myself with 5-7 d's of S&S (sans TGU's due to a shoulder injury that I'm rehabing). Thank you!!

Cheat days are very important. Equally important is...don't skimp on a cheat day. Eat whatever you want, as much as you can hold. You'll find those cravings slowly subside after a few binge feastings. If not, a good cheat day still serves as a reward to keep the discipline focused on daily workouts and proper diet.
