Excellent video. But personally I'd say 10 reps is a lot for weighted, something like 5 would be more optimal for working on strength and explosiveness which is more important than endurance in high pull ups and many other calisthenics exercises.

weighted pullups have nothing to do with explosiveness, it just increases the load, the rep range should depend on whether you're doing strength work or explosive work, not on whether it's weighted

@@anomaly3215 That's what I am saying.. There is no way you are going to be doing 10 reps of weighted ones and work any explosiveness since it will just be too much fatigue. For max strength (which allows for better explosiveness) 10 reps is also too much, as that will be more of endurance. Ideally you probably want to stay around 4-6 reps for maximizing strength and around 3 reps for explosiveness. And yes, weighted pull ups will definitely increase your explosive pull up, assuming you are doing it somewhat explosively. Just think about it, being able to lift a higher load with X speed, your muscles will be able to contract even faster when that load is decreased.

Good question! With scapula activation, in this case I mean scapula depression (pull shoulder blades down).

"find a weight with which you can do 10 reps"! Man, if I can do 10 reps with a weight either the weight is very light or I am so strong that I dont need your video ;) With weighted pull ups we want to develop strength, for strength the optimal reps are 2-4
