Dude seeing the parry timers for Chun-li's SA3 really puts into perspective how much of a BEAST Daigo was for parrying this. The window to parry is so tight and yet he managed to hit every single one on a sliver of health.
@marvelousmugencorner8592 жыл бұрын
Not even just that, but he managed to create a combo specifically for that situation as well, and was able to put the entire formula together in a cohesive sequence, all while on a sliver of health like you said. The mans was remarkable!
@slthjawa5062gggghhjjjjjkkkk2 жыл бұрын
The sliver of health has nothing to do with it. If You're worried about losing when you have only a little health, you'll lose because you aren't focused.
@marvelousmugencorner8592 жыл бұрын
@@slthjawa5062gggghhjjjjjkkkk Exactly. It's still impressive nonetheless. How he was able to keep his composure. He knew what he had to do. What Jwong was gonna do at any point, The exact timing of the parry, his meter, and the exact combo he needed to do. All of it came ahead into that one moment. He used the low life he had to his advantage in a way really. Baited Justin into going for chip damage which cost him the game. It's incredible

That parry system was so ahead of its time when it was made by Capcom! The amount of tweaking and writing the rules and exceptions to rules, and curing exploits for each character..it's just mind blowing the amount of time that went into coming up with that system!

I just got 3rd strike on fightcade a few days ago, this is gonna be super helpful
@carsonthething45192 жыл бұрын
fightcade since like christmas has been off the charts with new people. up to 100 active players at once, not counting the amount of people that have 3s in their lobby list. its truly a great thing to see my favorite fighting game get more attention and im still figuring out why it has recently. ive spoken to some people in the industry (jazzy circuit etc.) and they blame youtube of course. my personal theory is the daigo parry videos justin has been posting where people parry him every week are getting popular and max made has said in a lot of newer videos that fightcade is how you play 3s so thats just what people do. very cool thing to see evolve :)

I used to train parry using this mod. Two hints for the ones interested in this: 1 - You can pin the parry bars in the screen (left top) using the option "Follow Character: No" 2 - Don't get too used to the parry bars.. after a while it's good to train without showing them. It makes a huge difference (at least for me). There is a mod made by c_cube that include trials in 3rd Strike but I never could make it work (the script always crash and close the game).. If someone have any hints or tips to fix it, I would appreciate it.

the trial Lua was made for 3s on the FBA emulator and FC2 uses FBN. so u gotta run it on FBA. drive.google.com/drive/folders/1dNKtyroaSjcUzrdhJgNyLygpvCX_1Oab. this is a drive that has the trial and the FBA training mod aswell, the rom is set up already too.

This has probably been asked and/or pointed out in the comments already (I didn't read them all, sorry lol) but I always thought that to Parry the final hit of Chun's SA2 that Daigo did a jump FORWARD (as opposed to a neutral jump) to initiate the start of his combo? I could be wrong, and I forgot where I read that at, but I believe it was in an older breakdown video of Moment #37 here on KZbin somewhere. Had something to do with Daigo saying it in an interview I think. Daigo's reasoning being that j. forward was how he initially learned it, and that it felt better to him in setting up the Ken combo that follows. IDK, just something worth looking into I suppose. Great video!

Thanks for the training explanation. You explain that for parrying multi hit supers, the "spacing" between parries depends if previous parry was early or late. So how can you feel the good chun li SA2 parry rhythm? It feels like rocket science to me.
@carlosjuarez41342 жыл бұрын
My guy thanks for this! Looking forward to playing you one day.
@clener7429 Жыл бұрын
Jmcrofts' explanation of how the parry guide works helped me but I don't get which one means you're too early and which one means you're too late. Because throughout the video he says that if the number is -, then it means you did the parry too early, but then at 9:41 he says he was "6 frames too late". Intuitively I'd say that if the red number is +, it means you were too early, with a negative number meaning you were X amount of frames late, but I can't tell.

I'm shocked that you didn't point out why the Daigo parry is insanely difficult. The hard part is that you need to input the parry before the superflash. This is why you see Daigo moving forward briefly several times before Justin actually supers him. If it was just a matter of timing it would be pretty trivial. The fact that Daigo had to know it was coming changes everything.
@overfoxed2 жыл бұрын
Exactly, the hard part is getting the first hit. It's really not too difficult for a seasoned player if they get the first hit
@Papa_Giuseppe2 жыл бұрын
what confuses me is. DO you hold forward the whole freeze ? Or do you need to time the release? Or do you just tap at the moment before the flash and let go instantly
