Always wonder why the fighting game approach go balance is either ridiculously overtuned to punished mercilessly into impotency. I’ve heard its to shake up character selection to make each season feel more fresh but I really think a well balanced cast of likeable characters would do better and be better received. Abigail is absolutely reviled by everyone and he highlights this perfectly. He was revealed at EVO to great scorn, captured no one’s imagination, and was a competitive menace. Then when people started playing him and actually sticking to him, they turned him into gutter trash so of course he’ll get dropped, and we may never see him again. That’s not a problem, but thats resources down the drain, and a character and playstyle that probably will never return. Why do that when you can make an awesome memorable character that can be kept around for time to come?

So you’re telling me that 2I Sean builds a lot of meter with 4HP, gets a million ways to hit confirm into one of the best supers in the game that goes nearly full-screen and beats fireballs, and had two bars of said super just cause? I know why Sean sucks so much in 3S. Chun Li stole his soul.

Vega was dogwater in Vanilla SF4, but he slowly got better over the course of the updates, and by the end of it, he was solidly mid-tier. Vega was quite a bit worse in SF5 than he was in USF4. Capcom's been doing the claw man a bit too dirty since the switch to 3D.
