I found when I first started playing slide that slow is the best way to go. Baby steps. Don't say "I can play this or that really good. Instead, practice slow and try adding more or less vibrato to change feel. Also long slides and stop on the note without any vibrato at all. Then practice the vibrato while landing on the notes. If you can't do that yet, you should back up and practice until you have that. I just found this channel and I must say "He's a awesome teacher. He's easy to follow and well studied." Jules, thank you. I'm just getting back into playing again. I think I'm going to subscribe so I can live by the words I've spoken above. Peace.. Joe

Are you using the 'Dumbleized' fender reverb amp? Or is it the before you modded it? The tone in this video is fantastic!
@julesleyhe3 күн бұрын
Thank you Kurtis! I’m using the enigmatic in this video, I really like using it for my lesson videos because I think it sounds great and the ease of use is hard to beat! While im a tube amp guy as much as possible I feel like my lesson videos are a great application for these amp model pedals. Thank you so much for checking out the video!

All guitar instruction videos should state the guitar's tuning, since so many players, especially slide players, use different tunings. We have information about mics and lights, etc. but not the most basic of all - the guitar tuning. Otherwise, great lesson, thanks.

You are correct, sorry about that! I play slide in open E tuning pretty much exclusively!

Hi Are you using the volume pedal for accent more dynamic sound also?
@julesleyhe3 күн бұрын
Hi Francesco, yes! I tend to use the volume pedal most of the time to sort of soften the attack/ to soften the end of notes, so that’s what you’re noticing- you’re correct!
@francescodefelice66503 күн бұрын
@@julesleyhe I use the volume knob since I’m Stratocaster and tele lovers.
