Man, I gotta thank you. First of all, you are SO natural on camera. So many photoshop educators have great content, but don't really know how to talk on camera. You're casual, you're informative, and you seem like the kind of person I'd love to be on a shoot with. Thanks for this amazing video!!

What's up everyone! Thanks for stopping by! Hopefully you enjoyed the method used here to match colors quickly using the curves tool. I get asked about it a lot and though I love sending other tutorial links I figured it was time I get my goofy mug into frame and show you myself. As we get closer to 1k subs here I can't wait to get involved with community polls where you guys can vote on future topics, video ideas and general involvement. Looking forward to further growth with you guys. Thank you so much for the support, love and feedback thus far! You guys Rock!

That was a very helpful Tutorial. Why didn't I think of that. Thank you for sharing. Question: If you do not use the mask at all. Should delete it? No use to have mask on adjustments if you are not applying mask to anything? Your thoughts.
@DustinValkema
@DustinValkema 5 жыл бұрын
No problem, thank you! Generally speaking, I don't mind having the layer masks on a layer as it gives flexibility in changing later. I'd rather have it there automatically than need to click an extra button later to add it :D

Cool technique. Let's say you have a composition with 10 different images. Do you match them all the "background" layer? What if instead of the sky, it is somewhere indoors? Should all the images match the one background image?

hey! I just saw this video and it was helpful. I was wondering if you could help me this this i am trying to make a horror type of photo similar to a scene from one of freddy krugers movies where he has the faces of his victims on his chest/stomach I am having trouble making the persons face/body appear flesh tone. It needs to appear as if they are under the skin trying to push through

Don't you think it's more accurate to match colours manually (color balance + levels + exposure + ...etc), or is it as good as curves alone?
@DustinValkema
@DustinValkema 4 жыл бұрын
RedArt Station Actually a good question! This is the fastest method I’ve found and generally my first goto when starting the process. If it doesn’t happen to work well I’ll go to more of a manual solution, whether it’s manually adjusting curves or a more thorough solution like you stated above. At the end of the day I look to get a good result as fast as possible and can tweak from there. From a solid base stand point, this is fastest 9/10 times in my workflow.

😂 I still at laugh it... crazy looking back, discomfort has a lot of crazy effects on people. As cheesy as it was, was the only way I got through some of these takes early on lol. Literally had to laugh at myself prior to recording for quite a while, most times I cut it out but this one just rolled right on through. Gotta do what you gotta do to get through the suck...

These days I group elements and set the group to normal blend mode if able. Then throw that curves layer as the first in that group. Works great as a base in most cases.

Great production, very proffesional. but i will say that when you add your subtitles, dont make them so huge and in all caps. there's a reason why subtitles in movies are the way they are. also when theyre so big across the whole screen it takes longer to read. other than that nice tutorial!
