I was very nervous about it at first, but you gave me hope that I can grow my hair back one day soon. Happy new year my friend! -Mike Wilson

I was pleasantly surprised at the results I have seen in my hair. I started 3 months ago. I have been using a 1 mm Derma roller once every two weeks. After three times of using it every two weeks I took a three week break. I use moderate pressure (no blood), but enough to leave my scalp tingling and a bit red. I go over the thinning areas 9 times horizontally, lifting the roller after each pass. I then go 9 times with the same method vertically. I use foam Rogaine only once a day in the evening except I don’t apply it the evening I Derma roll. I apply the Rogaine to all the thinning areas including the hair line. I started to notice my hair started feeling thicker after about 9 weeks. I just had my hair cut short and am so happy with the way it looks. Thicker looking and the thinning areas are filling in nicely. I highly recommend the process. The great thing is it works and is inexpensive. Don’t forget to disinfect the Derma roller prior to and after using it each time. I spray it with Isopropyl alcohol spray (70%) and before using it I rinse it under warm water and shake it dry. I am a 59 year old male with moderate hair loss (I did have a transplant many, many years ago).

I forgot mention I wash my hair every Sunday with Nizoral (2 % Ketoconazole) shampoo, including the night I Derma roll. Other days I use a mild Neutrogena shampoo.

Hola Al! I basically have the same story as you. I've had great improvement in the past using my dermapen at 1.5mm, but I HATE the flaking, and it takes me a long time for complete coverage (diffuse thinner here). I just ordered a 1mm dermaroller with real needles. Will it have the same effectiveness as the pen? Also, I really like rollers better because they are faster. You are a God-send and I'm very thankful for what you do. Listen to this man, people!

Some people think that if you don't wait, you can get Minoxidil sistemically. However, I apply it right after, and never had a problem. But I always recommend it. It is up to each person to decide.

@@algarrido Thanks so much for the response. I've been applying it right after, maybe will mix it up and see which seems best for me. Last thing, hopefully you can respond... but my main area of concern is hairline and prescribed Tretinoin 0.050% which is incredible for skin, would applying that right after minoxidil to the hairline area be basically the same as the mixed version you have? I'd imagine minoxidil first as the Tretinoin is a thicker cream that would probably make the minoxidil difficult to be absorbed.
@algarrido Жыл бұрын
It is difficult to say, because in the clinical trials they mixed the tretinoin with the minoxidil liquid. If I was you, I would use the minoxidil/tretinoin combination that comes already prepared and ready to use.
