Who has winter sown before? Are you going to give it a try?

Thanks for watching and your support Remi! Appreciate it. I am hoping for good results on our fruit tree seeds and other perennials I always struggled to get good germination indoors of them.

I hope to try this technique sometime in the near future, possibly with the rest of my iris seeds. Loved seeing the dog in the background while you were talking too, just snoozing away, getting some warm fur :)

Just like alot of things alot of expermienting and tweaking for your specific area the nice thing is you can do a few seeds at a time and no major cost or input. Ha. My dog loves the spring sun! I remember that day it was so amazingly sunny and warm much welcomed after a cold winter.

@@FourSonsOffGridHomestead Yes! I don't get milk in the plastic jugs like this, so I took cleaned out vinegar jugs from my parent's recycling. I'm hoping to try a couple iris seeds this way :). And yes, warm temperatures after winter doldrums are a huge encouragement!

I'm in northern Wisconsin. Most KZbin videos say end of January, first part of Feb. I see your posting in April. Would February be too soon? Will be starting milkweed and marigolds

Some people plant earlier cause they are zoned higher. I am a zone 3 and currently sitting at -40c which is -40f so nothing happens at this temp and its too cold for me to work with wet soil we dont have a shop so i wait for march when daytime temps all for it but we still have cold nights and lots of snow. Milkweed has a cold period or you can seed in fall so those you could put out now for your season as they are a hardy plant but annuals and other tender things I will wait. I have never started marigolds early as they direct sow nicely but do a small test and see. Good luck and thanks for checking us out. I will be doing a bunch more milk jug sowing this year and recording as well as more updating on how my plants did but last year I had phenomenal success with perennials especially like I have never had. Asparagus seeds almost 100% germination!
