To be honest, I love all your videos, but the original vocal is already quite good. That’s not the reality on most of our home studios. It will be good to see how you do it with a not so good vocals and then you make gold out of it. Thank you!

Could you please do a tutorial on how is this voice recorded (any comp or eq) since it starts off better than 95% of the recorded voices of the people watching this tutorial. I bet they would be happy to have their final voice as good as this initial voice.

Unless you're in a studio, many of the people recording stuff won't have any EQ or Comp in the chain before the output. Best you can do is treat your room. Make sure you're gain is set so you aren't clipping, and if you get artifacts at that level you can lower it to remove those sounds. Make sure all other sounds (like fans/vents) are removed if possible. And make sure you're using your mic properly, if you're sitting 1 foot away from your mic, it'll sound a lot different from 6 inches away.

nice video, but I think you should compare the on and off parts with the exact same instrument part. (When on, the electric bass part was also on.)

This setup works for rap and R&B vocals as well. Just a few tweaks on the compressor and eq depending on if it’s a make or female voice

Would be better if for the EQ portion, instead of playing the “EQ’d” vocal, you boost where you cut so you can show everyone what you’re looking for sound wise when you cut. Not everyone knows what to listen to in the nasal or boxy areas of vocals. Always helps to emphasize those frequencies so people understand what to listen for.
@AVDRE
@AVDRE 2 жыл бұрын
If it helps, these terms are used alot when mixing, I try to learn the frequency areas for each terms so I know what they sound like. Harsh, nasally, boxy, boomy, muddy, punchy, crispy. Etc. Some videos are out there with examples
@Skkyyyyyyyyyyy
@Skkyyyyyyyyyyy 2 жыл бұрын
@@AVDRE I know the terms. I’ve been mixing for 15 years. But the people who are likely watching this video are still learning the basics. So rather than tell them “this is where to cut”., show them WHY you cut there by boosting what you’re cutting so beginners can hear what mud, box, nasal etc sounds like.

I dont like that you turn the plugins on when the songs energy rises. I cant tell what youve done to the vocal against the beat. Idk if what Im hearing is the energy change or is the vocals actually getting better. If you could do the video over, but play the same part twice that would be a greater fit.

Hi. 🙂 Please, let us pray together. Dear God who art in heaven hallow be thy name thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven, give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil for thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever in Jesus Christ's name we pray amen. ❤🙌

A useless tutorial. Do not play the ENTIRE BAND when trying to teach in redably subtle alterations to the voice. YOU are very familiar with the audio of the voice, but nobody else is as experienced with it as you. Think of your audience.
