I struggle with colour mixing and found this super helpful. I only have a basic set of colours so mixing is very important. I think I've been too heavy handed, plus not swatching the colour out far enough with water. Thank you for sharing.

LOOOOVE Your videos. I'm still very much struggling with portraits and color mixing. This was so helpful. I never thought to use Quin Gold. It's one of my favorite colors! I'm so looking forward to trying this, then hopefully applying to an actual face. Thank you!

Thanks for sharing Jane-Beata, the way you blend skin color with watercolor is quite interesting. Can we apply this to all portraits? Or just apply to the same topics as in the video you guide.
@JaneBeata3 жыл бұрын
Hello there and thanks for watching - the color mixing is widely applicable to all watercolor techniques and subjects :)

Excellent vid. Any reason why you don’t use W&N Quin. Gold like your other 2 pigments? Thanks.

Thanks for such a great video! Does using different paper alter the colour mixing ratio much?👍
@JaneBeata15 күн бұрын
Thank you, and yes it can, you have to test every paper you work with to figure out, how does color shift during drying. This can vary greatly.

Hi if you don’t have the gold one what can i use instead
@JaneBeata2 жыл бұрын
You can use raw sienna or any kind of ochre, some kind of warm yellow also works.
