How to MOD Any PS4 Controller to Wired (Easy Fix to Loose USB)

*IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A SOLDERING IRON* *DISCLAIMER:* *READ THIS ALL OF THE WAY THROUGH AND MAKE SURE YOU UNDERSTAND BEFORE ATTEMPTING!* Cut the red and black plug cord off from the battery halfway down the black and red cords, then strip them down 1/4th to the wires, and then take a usb type A cable, strip the cord 1/3rd til you get to the red and black smaller cords inside of that, strip both of those 1/4th to the wires, and then combine the red usb cord wire to the red battery plug wire, and then combine the black usb cord wire to the black battery plug wire(Please cover the combined wires with electrical tape after your done if you have it) After this just plug your newly made USB plug cable straight into the motherboard where the battery used to be plugged in(Now instead of plugging a battery into the motherboard, in its place should be the half of a USB cable that plugs into your playstation) also remember to find a way for the cable to exit the controller when you put it back together.

If i remover the battery dirrct connect a usb cable positive and negative, the controller does not turn on not unless i jump the battery with it

Super useful! My battery was exhausted so for over a year now I’ve just kept the controller plugged into a power bank to keep it somewhat wireless but that doesn’t even work now. Thanks to the encouragement and direction of this video I went for it and it’s working. Only difference was I snipped my battery cables close to the battery and spliced into those to use the battery’s connector

I recommend getting a MicroUSB data cable and an OTG cable.

You can use it wired but you'll need you're DS4's charging cable

O cabo da conexão só fornece energia, certo? Aqui só tô usando ele por Bluetooth, ou seja, conecto esse cabo da gambiarra numa entrada USB e pareio ele por Bluetooth por exemplo no meu celular. O problema é que pra conectar de volta no ps4 não tem como ser direto por Bluetooth, tem que antes conectar ele diretamente por cabo (pela entrada natural do controle). Tô com medo de conectar o USB pra fornecer energia e o USB pra parear com o ps4 e dar algum tipo de curto circuito. Você já testou fazer algo assim, ou alguma outra maneira de conectar no ps4?

Hey, thanks for the upload. Is there a reason you didn't solder the cable into the external connector? You know, the USB Micro B connector that is already there on the outside of the controller?

If you get a Loose USB board, my method sti works, if your usb board is ok what you said works too, but then the controller will be legit wired, my method keeps it like a "wireless with infinite battery" as keeps feedin from the source

Is it still working? Did you use any resistor because I think the battery is 3.7v while you used 5v wired usb.

Yeah it still works, and nope i made direct into the usb and no problems so far all this years

Thank you buddy, I changed my controller to wired as in the video and it keeps disconnecting from the ps4.(I used a long wire about 5 meters) is it possible that because it became outside the range of the Bluetooth of the ps4

loose USB. , Cant charge and cant connect using it, and buying a new usb board to replace too expensive here, and taking the battery out and in everytime to charge is too troublesome too

It might work but i believe if wrong done can damage the battery life or even controller as it will be always receiving nonstop charge

You think same could be done for ps3 controller? Have you noticed lower latency? The Bluetooth antenna is still there. I use ps2 controller on PS4 for that reason but great video!

Uuuh which version of the dualshock 2 do you use? Or u modded it?, Btw yeah if it have a power suply with the same "characteristics" as the PS4 definitely works but better to check if the PS3 USB Ports and the cable is 3.0 or lower to make sure nothun happens to the board or the Ports itself

The Commands have no input lag whatsoever, but in other side if you format the PS4 you gonna need either a keyboard or another controler or a PS4 Remote Play app to find the controlelr again cuz he still being detected as a "wireless" input the board just being feed by the power from the port

@@Thiagosldark DualShock 2 from ps2 era but with Bliss-box adapter. You can use brook adapter also or watch gunpala ps2 to switch adapter But if you mainly use PS4 use brook ps2 to ps3/ps4

Omg this is super helpful! I play fps games on my ps4 then switching back and forth pc and ps4, and tried ps4 wired and it looses connection and i dontblike using a xbox controller. So this helps so much

yeah it works as bluetooth still if u want it fully wired you need to swap the usb board connectors into the cable

if you use the controller for your pc, don’t do this. windows won’t recognize it unless you connect it with bluetooth

yeah for PC use you would need do the soldering direct into the USB board port, or the pc must have a bluetooth to use this method i posted
