I deleted all skyrim folders in documents > my games. and from local. downloaded the game again and it still shows 'continue' above the 'new game' option... so I'm not sure... im still gonna go through with the tutorial

one thing also for new modders. avoid any mods that needs tons of patches, usually on exterior or interior overhaul. finalize your lighting mods first and then landscapes like mountains, roads and water. and dont be afraid to ask anyone in the community for help. happy modding, cheers!

I don't understand the negativity towards LOOT. I've been modding Skyrim since the Oldrim days, I've seen a ton of issues, but none were caused by LOOT. Its master list gets updated regularly and is probably better than what any individual could come up with manually.

As I mentioned, IF you know how to set up LOOT rules... go ahead! For those who are new, LOOT does not solve everything. If it did.. everyone would have no problem with load order, right? Again, if you know how to set LOOT rules or your modlist does not have too many mods.. it's okay to use.

They have LOOT Rules. Of course, they use it. You can even check Lexy's LOTD SE which has a guide on setting up LOOT rules for their modlist.

its not hate against LOOT its that LOOT is no miracle tool, you shouldnt click sort and think its 100% perfect. You still need to invest some time to fix your loadorder even after LOOT did its thing.

@@papamuller I'm pretty sure there not using LOOT to sort there load order for those list . LOOT can be used to see if a plugin needs cleaning or not that the only thing I use it for. Other than that manually sorting your load order especially for large list and using xedit to look for conflicts is the safest option and its very easy to do.

Thanks Panda, this is very helpful and will be great to refer to in the future when I eventually get a PC. I've been modding for years across the 3 platforms and >5,000 hours in Skyrim, but only a tiny bit on Nexus 10-12 years ago on my old potato laptop and I'm not technically-minded! Modding on Xbox now, and I know it well, but it's a pain in the arse with the limited space and having to do each MOD individually. Takes forever lol. With such a limited space, building a LO (as I'm doing now) can be a heartbreaking experience, as we can't have all the mods we want for a playthrough. It's extremely difficult to get a nice balance between graphics and followers/quests and all the tiny immersion mods I love. I end up either having a prettier game with nothing new, or an old looking game full of immersive, mods and story additions (which is, funnily enough, my favourite LO 😅) As long as my LO is Lore-friendly, that's the most important thing for me. Anyway, definitely keeping a tab on your video for the future when I have a i12 6070 or whatever it'll be by then lolol 😂 PS - would love to play with the Creation Kit and create my own tiny cute player home. Will play Eldergleam One Day, too! ❤

MO2 is way more intuitive than Vortex. Coming from a Vortex veteran. I dumped it for MO2 and never looked back.

Oh, I've noticed that there's this modlist called "Skyrim Modding Essentials", it comes from the "Aetherius Modding " group where the creators of both modlists have a kind of partnership. So if someone doesn't want to use Pandora and want to stick with Nemesis, this can be a nice option ^^

If you're getting an error "failed to request file info from nexus host requires authentication" when trying to install mods in MO2 then you need to go to the "tools" and 'settings" then "Nexus" tab and authorise your account on Nexus Mods in the MO2.

Should've added (wabajack & mo2) in title. and should've explained why clean installs are important & backup a clean install in an other folder to skip download times and the thingy to block update (even if no one can escape Todd) Always fun those ones, personally I like the ones that go in the thick of it more, but peeps afraid what dey don't know, is intimidating when you got no idea what xyz is. Imo modpacks are overrated, I always just pick ideas from them and make my own load order.

Yeah you’re right! I should have explained why a clean install is needed. About the update, since I installed ADT, even if steam updates Skyrim, the modlist has its own STOCK folder which won’t get touched by steam.

Althros Dev Tools just keeps failing to install. I did a fresh install just like in the video, Special Edition and Aniversary Edition uypgrade and also creation kit. Did all the folders and followed every single instructions including the C++ and Dot Net frame work and Althro's Dev Tools always fails to install. It says its missing some files and I should manually download them and add the to the download folder, but the provided download links dont even work. So frustrating and dissapointing

Update - Someone suggested SME instead of ADT and it also fails with the same missing manual downloads errors that ADT does. So friggin annoying.

What does the error states? Usual problems users get is curios file which needs to be downloaded in the creation club section in game. Bethesda has a buggy Creation Club download so you might need to do that. Another one is game being set to a different language. It needs to be in English

@luckybomber the files didn't download correctly through skyrim, find them in the skyrim folder and delete them. Then open steam and run the verify files integrity and it will update the two 'missing' files with the correct versions.

Lance-toi, tu ne seras pas déçu! Je te recommande de jouer sans mods la première fois, jusqu'à ce que tu aies le sentiment d'avoir complété le jeu. Par la suite, ta meilleure option sera de télécharger une modlist (une collection déjà prête de mods), car créer ta propre collection, bien qu'étant une activité passionnante, te demandera beaucoup de temps et des connaissances approfondies du modding. While I agree not everyone has time to curate a modlist NOT learning how to use the available tools is a mistake as you will need them at some point if you're going to mod...Loot, nemesis/pandora, xedit, bodyslide, add item menu, even knowing how to edit ini files is useful on pc or how to swap .swf files

Leading with Wabbajack is a fucking mistake. Not only because of what you mention but because there are so many errors with Wabbajack. The only way to get support is joining a fucking Discord server, and even then, vague responses that assume you're a fucking computer-science nerd make it nearly impossible to run smoothly.

a couple weeks ago i got into an argument online with some dunce who interjected his BS take on saves. i was trying to help out someone who was new to the game and after i told this newcomer about not using continue, autosaves and quicksaves as they are prone to corruption along comes this fool saying that he supposedly never had an issue with them. i flat out called him a liar and sarcastically said that only he must be right and the literal thousands of posts, videos and guides were all wrong. after a few more people chimed in calling this mental inferior out for his nonsense he finally shut up. to sum it up, we who have been playing and modding this game for a long time know these things to be true, and it is imperative for new players to learn this to ensure a pleasurable experience.

Thank you so much for letting me know what the error is. After Bethesda's update, the curious.bsa and curios.esl plugins have 2 different types... one with a capital C and the other a lower caps "c" (Curios.bsa/curios.bsa). To fix this, you need to do the following: -Navigate to your Steam Skyrim Data folder. -Within the data folder, delete the 2 curios files ccbgssse037-Curios.bsa and ccbgssse037-Curios.esl. -Launch Skyrim from Steam. -Select Creations from the main menu. -Select 'Options' at the bottom. -Select 'Download all owned Creation Club Creations'. -Exit the game. -Rerun the Wabbajack installer.

Hi, Maybe someone can help me to deal with this. Im really new at modding skyrim, i have been following different guides in order to get the better start up modding. The problem that im having its that i cant install mods that affect first person animations, the main mode that i wanna install is: - COPREHENSIVE First pearson animation overhaul - Modern first-person animation overhaul i think i have al the requirements, but when i run the game by SKSE it does not look to change anything in the game. As long as you have Open Animation Replacer and OAR's requirements, you should be able to get it to work. Also, CFPAO and First Person Animation Overhaul don't work together. You gotta choose which animation you want from each or just use one. Heyos mister mod-man, maybe you (or anyone else in the comments) can help me? I recently got Skyrim SE on PC, spent all night getting a handful of mods installed and working. I got Simply Balanced so I can tweak exp and damage rates, and it works.. on MY character. My wife started a character today, and absolutely nothing as far as the mod list has changed, but Simply Balanced on her character shows all grayed out 0s and nothing can be adjusted. Any idea what gives?

You can mod any version of Skyrim. Is the old version better? That's all about personal preference. I will say that it is a lot harder these days to find mods that work for older versions, especially since major mods like UESSP doesn't support older versions.

I'm getting the same error. It says "Error during installation of ADT" and provides a link which says: "Wabbajack was unable to download the following archives automatically. Please download them manually and place them in the downloads folder you chose during the install setup." Then it gives a list of about 20 items. Not even sure which "downloads folder" it's referring to now. I also tried accessing the links it provided but it says your file couldn't be accessed in each link. This is my 3rd day trying to mod this game but I'm getting nowhere.

Could be many reasons for this. Did you use Wabbajack? More than likely, you're missing a masterfile for a bugfix mod. What UI are you using? SkyUI? Did you get that in a Wabbajack pack?

That will be impossible for anyone to answer. Ordinator - Perks of Skyrim has great unarmed perks in the Light Armor skill tree. Immersive Armors adds gauntlet variants for unarmed class choices. I'm sure there are others.

i have a problem while trying to download the modlist, i have manually pressed slow download on all the mods that show up and it does no prompt any more, it is on 155/156, if it is relevent on the bottom right of the wabbajack client/screen(idk) it says downloading DynDOLOD..... and the download bar does not seem to move at all. what can i do to fix this issue

It's optional. It's the same thing when finding all those bug fixes/important mods one by one without wabbajack. Premium only makes things quicker and "automate" the process. If you don't want to spend, you can always do the manual way for free. Either way, you'll be getting the same mods when modding without Wabbajack. Worst case you'll miss a few important mods.

Those "random" mods are all the frameworks, and bug fixes you'll be needing either way. You just have every necessary mods in a single click (assuming you have premium). There are no overhauls, retexture, etc. Just necessary mods you will NEED when modding. So your choice to get all those one by one and finding bugs in a playthrough only to end up searching for a mod to fix it, etc. No one's forcing you here

I googled mod organizer skyrim and downloaded version two and im about to run the files on wabba through the mod organizer as shown however there are several files that did not get downloaded or found , when i click on them afterwards in the screen that opens up telling the files that got missed the links are broken. im going to ignore them though.

Sorry I have no experience using Collections/Vortex.. I used to use Vortex back then, but I found MO2 much more.. free? in terms of things what I can do and how updating Skyrim won't affect the modlist if using the 'Stock game' feature

@@CaptPanda Well yes that's why, you used it at the beginning, now it's more robust, example for a clean game you have the Purge feature, that removes all mods and then you delete the left behind loose files , you can also convert plugins to light in 1 click without having to use Xedit and so much more, the only thing is that Nexus for some reason doesn't really promote the powerful features so it's up to the user to find them, pretty much they direct it to the newbie user which is click and set. but i get it, don't worry it was just a comment. keep up the good work! 😀

Damn, I spent 5 hours getting to the point of opening Mod Organizer and it won't even open. I click the .exe and all that happens is 3 .dmp files being created in the folder. Everything downloaded fine, but Mod Organizer just won't do anything but make extra files... Help?
