Currently making a snake and the problem is the scales stretching in the tail area and every method i tried stretch the scales when the it's get to the tail so i think the only solution is to paint them by hand.

same problem here and its driving me nuts. Doing them by hand is gonna be a pain and not that accurate or maybe i suck
