how do you get the oil filter "holder" inside the oem cap out without destroying it? Have the replacment for the b58 lying around but literally didn't want damage the holder as it is tight af

You do need to be somewhat careful but it should pop out with enough care.

Out of curiosity, I thought 2017 was when the LCI models came out but this 2018 car has pre-LCI tail lights. Is this for any reason inparticular or for looks?

Earlier in the series we explain this, it's was built in late 2016 but not registered until 2018, so is Pre-LCI.

Hi what brands of oil would you recommend for a service on these m4’s? And what branded spark plugs/ filters would you say do a good job on these without spending too much money?

Motul oil, BMW/NGK spark plugs, BMW oil filter, BMW or Eventuri air filters. Don’t skimp on maintenance items.

We use Motul 300V in our engine builds and 8100 in everything else.

No because 300V needs to be replaced at more regular intervals and is significantly more expensive than 8100.

How does the car feel with the front spacers? I had 15mm front spacers on my ex-E46 M3 and while they looked good, the steering was very "twitchy", especially at highway speeds.

sounds like you needed an alignment spaced wheels shouldn’t make that huge of a difference

@@wrth It was aligned properly. Spacers change the scrub radius and they can make a lot difference in steering feel.

Those “upgraded” air filters are a waste of money. Just use OEM BMW.

They’re cleanable and reusable unlike the original filter, give you a little more turbo noise and meet the same ISO certification for filtration as the OEM BMW filter. If you want to keep your vehicle running the best it can then regularly cleaning an air filter is a great way to do that to prevent any restriction. OEM BMW filters are cheaper sure, but once you’ve replaced them 2-3x you’ll be spending more money and creating more waste

Spacers are God's way of telling you your wheels are too narrow and have the wrong offset. Unsprung rotating mass is not a performance upgrade.
