Hello everyone welcome back and welcome to the new visitors. Due to my hectic schedule at the moment I have not been able to make weekly videos like I want to. hopefully soon when my schedule clears a bit more I will get back on track with it. It is great to be able to show you my new tutorial showcasing two of my favorite and best products on the market to make molds and resin cast your own miniatures and parts.
This is not a paid promotion but I really think you should invest in them and I don't mind promoting them for free because of how much I have benefitted from their materials. In this video, I show you some simple steps I take to make molds and resin casts, very easy to do when you are using the rite products and this is it. hope you enjoy it, please ask any questions in the comment section thank you.

Thank you, I'm glad I was able to make all the steps clear enough to understand. Considering all the copywrite claims going around I've made sure I learned how to sculpt to feature my own models in my future videos.

Holy crap I have never seen that technique being used for making sure resin gets into every corner. 8:10 I use two-part molds too so I can do this. I use a pressure chamber to shrink them but I have to be fast because I have been using the fast-curing stuff.

Awesome video - I have a question. I was going to try to make a silicone mold of a plastic miniature, and I wanted to know if instead of mold release, would I be able to melt Vaseline down or Coconut Oil to liquid form then apply it with a brush over the plastic miniature before adding the platinum silicone? Could I also apply either on the cured silicone before pouring the other half? I read that supposedly, it would act is a divider.

Hello and thank you for your comment. You can definitely use oils as mold release as long as it is oily. Adding them between the two halves of ant mold really does help. I would also suggest adding the oil release agent to your molds before casting with resin. When the resin gets really hot it wears out the mold. Adding a form of mold release will alleviate the stress on the mold as well as give it a longer life ultimately allowing you to cast another one or two more casts before the mold begins to deform.

Thank you, I'm glad you find it helpful. Over the years I've sculpted here and there I learned on my own just watching pros online and practicing. I'm not a pro yet but I'm working towards that.
