Thank you! plenty more coming down the pipeline. You don't even have to do anything specific. With the shader already emitting light at the corners of the model (using the pointiness attribute), the shader will just adapt to the new edges(corners) in each new frame created by the boolean as it cuts the mesh... over time it forms the effect of lighting the transition.

Hi there great tutorial! I followed your steps here but why is my bolean "cube" showing up in the final render? it's covering the screen when I keyframe it in. Just wondering. thanks!

Is there a way to do this with text without converting it to mesh.. Or I guess I might have to convert it to a mesh first... This is awesome by the way..,. Thanks for sharing
@RIOTGEAR3D3 жыл бұрын
for this workflow, it has to be converted to a mesh...and thankyou very much.
@mr.cobalt16682 жыл бұрын
This works in viewport display, but when I tried to render it, the boolean object box was opaque. Hiding/disabling the box in render or giving it an alpha texture made the objects with the union boolean also disappear.

Hey where can i find more textures like you used in the previous video please reply
@VotechsDigital3 жыл бұрын
Did u use cycles to do this
@RIOTGEAR3D3 жыл бұрын
Yes I did, the glowing was done in compositing using the glare node and some blurrs on the emission pass

Hi. I am very interested in how you did the wind erosion effect on your logo. Is it a mesh sculpture? Or an effect?
@RIOTGEAR3D4 жыл бұрын
If you mean the horizontal streaks on the logo, that was a happy accident. They are caused by artifacts in the mesh that occured when converting the logo from curves to a mesh. The pointiness node happened to pick up these artifacts and got the emission to bring them out
@Gazing-093 жыл бұрын
Say how do you make a toon shader texture that can make material glowing on certain areas?
@RIOTGEAR3D3 жыл бұрын
That would really depend on what the certain areas are, because that would determine how you target them, that being said, I haven't dabbled much in npr but I think the underlying principles should still remain the same.
@mattoryu2 жыл бұрын
i tired this on my models but for some reason it doesn't work. The cube starts flashing the colours of the models. It does boolean the models like the video but the cube and models disappear and reappear like crazy
@RIOTGEAR3D2 жыл бұрын
Try making your mesh a...I think they call it non-manifold mesh... Go into editmode, select everything and merge by distance to remove overlapping vertices. Then try again. Hopefully that helps

Heyy great tutorial man! I am trying to make a scene one car morphs into other and in the viewport render it is rendering fine as it should but in the render view it is also rendering both the cars regardless if one is set to intersect and the other is set to difference. Is there a way to fix this?
@RIOTGEAR3D3 жыл бұрын
It sounds like your modifiers are disabled in the render maybe... check The camera icon at the top of your modifier
@itisohm3 жыл бұрын
@@RIOTGEAR3D I actually checked and found out that it's probably an issue with the way I copied the cars from another scene. I will try to fix it that way and inform you of it 😄

How did u do the glow in the objects
@RIOTGEAR3D3 жыл бұрын
This was rendered in cycles so the glowing was done in compositing using the glare node
@VotechsDigital3 жыл бұрын
@@RIOTGEAR3D Like from 0:00-0:11 how did u make the light glow in the objects from off to on
@RIOTGEAR3D3 жыл бұрын
@@VotechsDigital I'm simply animating the strength of the emission from 0
@RIOTGEAR3D3 жыл бұрын
The emission itself is masked by the pointiness attribute in the geometry node so that the light is emitted from the objects edges, then I animate the value of the strength from 0 to the preferred value
