Helpful video im wanting to register my pit bike for road use im looking into everything I need to do mine is a chinese bike that i ordered online it's brand new but it didn't come with any paper work or anything but it does have a vin number though.

About to do my rm85 02/03 soon have road tyres (sm) about to fit a full loom (battery powered currently in airbox but may fab a box and cut rear mudguard) but the nova how do I go about that and what do I do with it! Have my certificate of newness already

I have a quick question; the mot tester I want to use in England is saying I need to get a certificate of conformity to take the bike for an mot, is this true? And how would I go about getting one?

No it doesn’t need a certificate as you should be registering it as a trials or enduro bike which means it has no regulations to meet like lights etc and it is exempt from SVA testing

@@Panda_kt13 yeah I was thinking that. You will always get someone being difficult when they aren’t sure about something. There isnt really much difference in the 2 nowadays as seat height is no longer important. If you check out my video on filling in the v55 form I filled out the form as Trials/Enduro bike so no there isn’t really any difference in the 2 as far as registering and mot are concerned

Yeah that’s hopefully going to be my next video. The nova site was down for a few weeks due to Brexit but I think it’s back up now. I hope to have it up by the weekend and then I’ll do the v55 form video which isn’t too complicated.

Did you need a silencer for your exhaust? My exhaust is really loud. It's a standard pit bike exhaust

I didn’t fortunately in mine as it’s not too bad. Sometimes you do have to pack them with the fibreglass matting type stuff to quiet them down or there are quieter exhausts available to buy. Depends on what your mot tester thinks if it really but if you can I would try and quiet it down as a loud exhaust can get annoying after a while

do they check the engine (the cc) frame number and papers say its 125cc

They will check the frame number most likely but it’s unlikely they will check the engine number or cc as they will mainly only be looking for oil leaks and safety related things like that

I’m with a company called bike sure. It took them a while to get the bike on the system as it is not a brand name but they were very helpful. Hopefully they can help you out too.

@@nirajkumarmaheta1398 that was the only company I could get. My pit bike was a lot more expensive than my big bike bits it’s just because they are an import type thing. My pit bike insurance was £315 and my GSXF600 was only £141. But they said it will be a lot cheaper next year

Yes you will have to have a Speedo which can show mph and kph or be able to switch between the 2

Firstly what size are your tyres? Are they the 12 + 14 inch or the 14 + 17 inch? Also did you check to see if your standard tyres were e marked or just didn’t say “Not for Highway Use”. If not they should be accepted at the MOT?

No. If you check out my other nova and v55 form videos, when you are registering the bike you register it as an enduro or trials bike and then you don’t have to do type approval. I hope this helps

@@DarrenMcKinney1 yes that’s what I thought but she has sent the v55/5 form back which is my mistake I should have sent the v55/4 for a q reg and stated If I intend to use it on the road I need to get a VCA Type approval certificate.
