You can shrink your tracking area and use the unsharp mask to bring out detail to track (You don't have to leave unsharp mask on after you get your motion track data)

I cannot get motion tracking to work, i know how to open yadayada, but when i press the track buttons it comes up with "low track count" and the green bar doesnt fill, moving frame by frame doesnt work wither it just keeps putting the same frame over and over, not sure whats wrong

SOS....I am failing to transfer tracked data in Vegas Pro 18.Now you have to drag the tracked data onto the track you want to transfer it to.Everything worked fine when you would copy and paste it.What could I be doing wrong?Thanks in advance.

Thanks for this very helpful tutorial. I have a question, though. Why does the rest of my screen go black when I try to motion track another video in my clip? The video I added over my clip is still tracked and visible, but the original clip in the background is just plain black after I have applied "picture in picture".

How do I make it track the face with the camera? Like, it's hard to explain. Basically face gets tracked and the camera moves along with the face.

I'm trying to make the transition from Adobe After Effects, to Vegas. In Vegas Pro, how can we move & animate the vertexes and key frames? So that they follow a complex moving object. After Effects could do this 17 years ago. By now, doesn't Vegas have that feature?

you can make as many keyframes as you want, and you can right click each keyframe to choose a hole, smooth, fast, or linear change between them. There's more methods to help too but off the top of my head that's all I got right now. I want to have another tutorial about animating keyframes again soon.

All that's still in bezier masking! You don't need to worry about creating shapes for the motion track.

Great video! I tried to motion track with a mask, like to do a big head replacement. I used PIP and It looked great on video preview but when I rendered the masking was off. The head was slightly off to the side. Hope you can help. Do I need to use the bezeir masking to do that?

Your render resolution may mis match your source media. Try selecting "stretch to fit" in render options

Installed 18.0 Pro Edit demo to see how it runs, and it just constantly crashes when I try to use motion tracking. Also cannot transfer motion tracking info to Bezier, it does nothing. Bezier mask does not move at all. Also lost most good vFx.. no witness protection vfx, and tons of others that I have in 16.0 Platinum that I use all the time. Not sure how they except someone to make a decision on purchase if you can't see the vfx list and demo trail version is broken to the point you cannot use it. 🤷‍♂️ 18.0 Pro does run better with my GTX1070/ Core i7 6700k though.. much better performance than 16.0 which is terrible. Too bad it's so unstable.. maybe the full version is fixed? Who knows. Not wasting $149 to find out.

This is the way they should have done it the first time. Now, let's see if they can make the color grading panel work on all plugin levels -- media, event, track, and project. They've said this is really just a fancy plugin, so there shouldn't be any reason it can't be done. That, and fix the warp flow transition, and we'll have what v17 should have been. (Can you tell I regret buying that upgrade.)

Sorry to hear that. I do agree that this method of motion tracking is the full version, while the biezier masking was early access. Yes, adding color grading fx to a track is a feature request I'll put in for! I've thought that several times. I'm really happy with how these new features are coming along though.

Maybe some people will disagree with me, I do think the idea is good but they fucked up... I used to blur a lot of things in motion and it was ok on 17 I mean yeah not that easy to track but once you try to add Pixelate to your blur it is a nightmare.... also it is tracking ok depending on the light in the video if you have too much white like snow will not figure it out what to track where to track and it is just impossible to use... it pissed me off really bad trying all options 1000 times

the MotionTracking is so incredibly crappy that I do everything with BCC Mocha whenever possible. It is so unbelievably unstable, inflexible and incompetent that it takes me hours to create workarounds. Even the simplest items are often not tracked cleanly or recognized at all. Partly I create masks with Mocha in the simplest black and white, render those, and let Vegas try to recognize it. Even then it fucks up... it's just frustrating. If my current project wasn't so extremely complex, I would get Adobe AE!!!!

As far as demonstrating your skills it is great but it is very hard to follow if you are just want to learn the technique. Explanations are not clear and you should do one thing at a time not jumping around to different things. You also should pick a much better file to demonstrate it. It is a pity but you should keep things clear and articulate your words so it is not hard to follow what you are saying. Otherwise thanks for your efforts.
