I haven't been beaten in 55 yrs I too, have contemplated this arrangement as an opening, but the great defect as depicted here, is leaving those 2 stragglers so far behind without much connection or consideration of them: = u would lose quite a few moves stepping them up solely

I agree. Unless you he chooses to play off of other players moves. But I wouldn't leave the 2 stranded like that
@lalomex11232 жыл бұрын
Exactly! It usually requires you to sacrifice a one space move early on in order to create the links that will get the back ones out as well..my 1st moves are always to fet ahead but never having more than one space away in my section.after my 1st 2 3 moves i focus on getting the back ones out using the forwars moves i stwrted with..helps get ahead..remember any sequence with many jumps is automaticallg saving you multuple single moves near the end. This game is won in the beggining in my opinion, at least if you knkw how to maintain stricture throught the entire game. Been playing since i was 5! I'm 29 now

But what do you do with the 9th and 10th piece that will get cut adrift? Also in a 6 player game this strategy really doesn't work well as it gets jumped on by the 4 flanking colours and bogged down

There's two at the back. I thought I explained that in the video... These two pieces have to jump over the opposition's pieces to make their way to home.

Aren't you supposed to move one hole at a time? Seems that you're allowing multiple jumps.
@howto...solvepuzzles9 жыл бұрын
Retro719 Hi, multiple jumps are allowed. I found these rules of Chinese Checkers on-line:"Players take turns to move a single peg of their own colour. In one turn a peg may either be simply moved into an adjacent hole OR it may make one or more hops over other pegs. Where a hopping move is made, each hop must be over an adjacent peg and into a the vacant hole directly beyond it. Each hop may be over any coloured peg including the player's own and can proceed in any one of the six directions. After each hop, the player may either finish or, if possible and desired, continue by hopping over another peg. Occasionally, a player will be able to move a peg all the way from the starting triangle across the board and into the opposite triangle in one turn! "
@kitkatpopsiciles6396 жыл бұрын
Retro719 it’s how you play Chinese checkers
@radrook44815 жыл бұрын
Multiple jumps is the standard way to play. Nothing unusual about it. BTW I wrote a book on Chinese Checker opening systems, strategy and tactics but it was either lost during a move to another location or stolen. No big deal I guess since the game is obviously still not having titles nor organized tournament competition. Maybe it's for the best since over-analyses can ruin a game.
