The Marquette NFP method is fabulous for postpartum! Great while breastfeeding and to pinpoint ovulation before your cycles return. They have a whole breastfeeding protocol.

Can you comment about breastfeeding and the “popular knowledge” that it is kind of a contraceptive method ? Also, maybe an episode about period post-p and what to expect ? Thanks I really love love your channel ! Thanks for being back 🤩

I didn’t even have sex until after 9months postpartum. The drs tried to put me on a BC pill the day after baby was born I’m like wtf…there is no reason. I’m not interested in sex at all 😂

It wasn't obvious to me from your explanation, and if you don't mind sharing, did you choose to get an IUD after your second? Which one? I ask because I had a copper IUD after my first was born and loved it, breastfed for almost 2 years, and then around 2.5 years pp had it removed because we wanted to start trying for our second. Immediately had a chemical pregnancy that my body had trouble resolving, and needed a D&C for. Haven't been able to get pregnant since, and it's been 10 months now of trying (since the IUD was removed). We are starting the process of fertility testing and such now, but I am curious if there are any studies on the impact of future fertility with IUD use, especially the copper one, since you talked about it being so "hostile" to the uterus environment and I wonder if that can impact things even once it is removed. Of course it could be something else in our case and we will find that out soon, but it would be an interesting thing to note as a possible side effect for anyone else considering it as their pp contraception.

She didn’t. The wink and nod was about next week’s video where she announced baby #3. Essentially, while debating options she got pregnant. Which is why she said to pick something sooner rather than later.

I saw your video yesterday, and am now watching this for the wink! 😉 Be aware all! 😂

I got an iud after my second. My ob placed them right away after birth if she’s the one that delivers. I wish that she told me there was a small risk for my milk supply, but luckily it was all fine. I had the epidural, so it was supposed to be painless, but it wasn’t quite painless because I had a relatively quick delivery and the epidural didn’t take full effect. I’m really glad to have it done! I just hope it wouldn’t take too long to get an appointment to get it removed when we want to try for our third and final baby.
@gratefullandblessed01352 ай бұрын
Oh wow do you still have the iud and is it still in the right place?
@rachelle22272 ай бұрын
@ Well yes, but I’m only 6 months postpartum. She told me that the strings will likely come down and be pokey before my 6 week pp appointment, and they did. I cut it back, and I didn’t realize I didn’t do it enough since I got really itchy down there at like 4 weeks pp. I was able to cut it enough myself, and they finished the job when I was at my 6 week appointment. This happens since the uterus shrinks. I would do it again, no issues for me.

Would NOT suggest trusting LAM if you are both nursing and pumping. My first was almost exclusively breast fed, but I needed to have my gallbladder removed one month postpartum. For that reason, I both nursed and pumped for the first month (started pumping two weeks after delivery) in order to cover the 24 hour window where I would need to pump and dump after my surgery. During that 24 hour window, I pumped whenever my daughter was bottle-fed. My period returned two months postpartum.

I wish you would have talked about Phexxi. I didn't want to do any hormonal options and we've been good so far.

Two ectopics (right and left) and a bilateral salpingectomy later and I never had to worry about contraception again. Unfortunately I had to have IVF to get pregnant, fortunately I have a daughter through IVF.

In Europe we don't recomend estrogen during bf at all.... Also would newer say LAM is enought (a brestfeed soo much and had confirmed ovulation at 4m pp)and FAM is not after menstruationnstarts- there are rules you should follow in adition to LAM so you would catch that first ovulation comming before first menstruation.

How long did you breastfeed Bo for? I am still breastfeeding my 21 month old and just wondering if you started ovulating again while you were still breast-feeding him or when you were finished breast-feeding him?
