It’s not necessary to take the clutch apart. If you put a few drops on the bushing area while the clutch is hot it will draw itself in there.

My son decided to oil his clutch one day and sprayed wd40 all over it, especially in the cover holes. It presented a good teaching moment when he came to me asking why his go kart wouldn't go any more. I showed him how to take it off and fix it using brake cleaner and showed him what yall did but used 40 weight bar chain oil.

I used to spray oil into the holes for the specific purpose of a worn clutch. The spring was worn and caused it to be engaged at idle speed, and the oil actually helped.

@SumProject18 In that case, it's a temporary fix that gets you going, but fixing the spring is the best route. I have had that issue and simply took the spring out, cut off several coils, and it gave it a fair amount more life

Once you put a nice triple disk SMC or Bully on your unit you won't care about anything else .. if it dosent snap your head back when it engages I don't care for it 🤣

Do you need special motorcycle oil for 4 strokes because of the clutch? Is there an additive you can put in normal auto 4 stroke oil to make it work ? Does it damage the clutch when u use normal auto ?

No special oil is needed for what he did here.

@@Deucealive75 I was doing research after asking this and it seems it is very much required (to keep warranty) and recommended regardless to use motorcycle specific oil because it uses less of certain additives that can cause clutch slippage and premature wear etc. and more of additives that help bikes and minimize friction without effecting it where you need it like the clutch plates At first I assumed this was a bs money grab but I even reached out to some ppl I trust in the industry and they all encourage using motorcycle oil formulations
