Pete, start mowing as normal but on the highest setting for the first 3 months. A sharp mower is beneficial.

During germination can i step on the lawn to move around and place the sprinkler at different spots, will it not damage the young grass popping out of the seed if i step on it?

Great video. Thank you for sharing. I have just scarifier my lawn which is now looking a bit bare. I also added a combined fertiliser and weed killer which says I shouldn't over seed for 2 weeks. You need to be very gentle for at least the first 8 weeks. Best to seed in spring if leaves are going to be an issue
