Another great strategy is to make your working schedule and environment more pleasurable. Take a lot of breaks, drink coffee, eat many small meals, do yoga in breaks, jump around, open the window for fresh air, play your favorite music, dance. And of course have an organized desk and clear tasks for the day.

Wow! So, I spent a week watching videos on how to not procrastinate and etc. Yet, I couldn't start working on it. Yesterday, before sleeping, and tired of lying to myself, I finally wrote down the things I should do in the following day and the priority of each task. Turns out that today it only took me 3 hours to start doing what I should have started MONTHS ago! Writing down the stuff you gotta do is REALLY POWERFUL, it's simple but it gets you started! THANK YOU BRIAN!

I have always suffered from the habit of procrastination, but I was usually able to control myself at the very last moment. But now I am in my senior year and for some reason I totally lost control and I can't even concentrate for few minutes on my studies , all of a sudden I started developing different interests in so many activities and I keep procrastinating my studies. Thank you so much your tips seem to be really helpful and I will start working on them now in shaa Allah.

This was unexpectedly useful. I think doing a check list helps, as long as you actually do the things in the list. The only way to move forward in life is getting proactive. I have paid a high price for procrastinating in my life, so I need to break this horrible habit if I want to be successful. There is no doubt in my mind now, what has prevented me from success is Procrastinating, so I'm taking my life back now. Amen!

His analogy of eating the frog was interesting. I used to be a caregiver and as you can imagine, had some very unpleasant tasks to perform. I would always say to myself, "Don't think about it, just do it and you can always wash your hands." That would get me through even the worst tasks I had to perform. I never ever dreamed that I could apply the same principle to avoid procrastination! Truly life changing for me!

I have been putting a lot of tasks off. Starting with my own health, by not working out, to my studies. I get my studies done at the last second. I procrastinate the whole day, and when my mom falls asleep on the sofa next to me, I start working or studying for exams. I set entertainment priority, which is wrong. I am smart, but I have been getting lower grades as of late. Not only because the gcse course is difficult, but also because I haven't been studying as much. I am getting low grades in business studies and computer science, which are my favourite subjects. I am not a good programmer, because I do not practice enough. So, I shall start today, right now actually. I shall start revising for my exams and setting my priorities straight- school, health, my family. Thank you. And I hope you have a good day, Mr. Brian Tracy. I listen to this everyday, you inspire me a lot!

Finally It happened I did it after I reached at home. And From past 2 years or more I have been putting off my preparation for Civil services and didn't go to any institute to get my coaching started. so now today I'm going to collect all the information and all about my coaching/career and will plan it accordingly from today. I run a Brian Tracy cd in the car, pretty much,on an ongoing basis...and the laugh is ....when you’ve got a stream of positive motivation going into your brain everyday.....you haven’t got time for procrastination...because i,ve got so much momentum going ....I,d have to make quite a big conscious decision to grind to a halt and procrastinate about anything to be honest. However, not doing something isn’t necessarily a bad thing.......I would advise anyone to start reading books about how to improve the quality of your decision making processes, because doing that will create a template for problem solving and creates momentum,.....and look at the virtues your basing those decisions on,are they the right ones, Through the Pandemic,I’ve ended up working as a Covid Marshall, was doing all the shopping for 3 households, keeping it all together when my brother in law was on a ventilator and in a coma with Covid......There was nobody to talk to because everybody was going through it all together....and listening to Brian,s rock solid principles,in a way was the navigation through the storm, because when everybody seemed to be losing it,a calming voice in the car was exactly what I needed all the Best

SCRIPT FOR THIS ENTIRE VIDEO: How to Overcome Procrastination - Brian Tracy - KZbin If you do things in the right way you will get whatever results you desire. Change your thinking. Say to yourself, "Do it now" Here's a trick for pulling yourself away from the temptation to procrastinate. Just say the words, Do it now. Do it now. Do it now. These magic words will motivate you and push you to get started. When you repeat these words "Do it Now" often enough the message will get pushed deep into your subconscious and act as a trigger for getting things done right away. If you spend all of your time thinking about how your habit of chronic procrastination gets in the way of all of your goals, motivation and dreams then your subconscious mind will accept that as the truth and that's how your life will continue to be. If instead you spend your time thinking about how wonderful you are at getting difficult and important tasks done right away and how incredibly organized you are with your time. Then your subconscious mind will come to accept that as the truth and you will start doing more of those things that overcome procrastination and get more things done faster. So that's the first critical step in not only changing your habit of procrastination but any habit in general. Change your thinking. The next strategy is from his best selling book on time management, Eat that Frog, and it is this. If you have to eat more than one live frog. That's what I like to call a daunting project or task, a live frog. You should eat the ugliest frog first and you should do it right away without any delay. It doesn't do you any good to stare at the ugly live frog in front of you, this big task. Simply resolve to take action and get it over with. Your entire life will be uninhibited by the daunting tasks that once prevented you from moving forward. It's important to remember that you cannot manage time. Time exists completely out of our control. So you can't manage time. What you can do is manage your life. Time management is really life management. It is the management of the sequence of events in your life. It's the ability to choose what you do first, what you do second and what you do later if at all and in this ability to choose lies your entire life. When you choose the most important thing and you choose to do that first. And you choose to do that rather than anything else. You immediately put your life onto the fast track. In fact you can actually double your productivity, performance and output in one day simply by changing your order of choices in the way that you use your time. Now let's talk about the best way to use our time in order to move us closer to our goals. How to Use Your Time Effectively: The way to do this is by developing a single minded focus on the things you need to do that will have the most important and beneficial impact on your life right now. Whenever you're faced with a task you must ask yourself, What are the consequences of doing or not doing this? And if the consequences of not doing something are irrelevant then don't do it. And do the things that have serious, immediate consequences. So here's what you should do each morning to set yourself up for success and to determine which task you need to get started on right away to make a sizable difference in your life. Plan each day in advance. Take time each morning to address your major goals and then write out a list of the things you need to do that day in order to get closer to those goals. Set priorities on each item so you don't skip your most important tasks and then get to it. When you jump right into the work day and start on something really important right away the level at which you work for the rest of the day will be increased. Before you wrap up I'd like to leave you with a thought to share with your friends and followers. If you do the right things in the right way, you will get whatever results you desire. One final question. What is one critical task that you've been putting off? And what will you do TODAY to start working on that task? Remember if you want to change your future. Take action and take action NOW. Summary: - Change your thinking: say to yourself over and over '' do it now" - start with the most difficult task first - focus on the most important things in your life - plan each day: goals, timing, priorities - TAKE ACTION NOW! DO IT NOW!

Dr.hemant Adikane what worked for me was to set your alarm clock half an hour earlier every Sonday night. this allows you to use one entire week to getting up at that time. don't turn it off for the weekend, you gotta keep at it. also, it does take a level of self discipline. don't allow yourself to hit the snooze button. so I moved my radio in an area where I HAD to get up and out of bed to turn it off.

I've read the Eat That Frog not long ago and thought "wow, this is actually super effective and smart". Now however, after trying the principles for a while, I feel actually more stress and anxiety by forcing myself to do things right away. The thing is that most self-help books about how to overcome procrastination talk about how to manage your time, deadlines, forcing yourself into action by "just doing it", and I hate to say it but this book is not something so unique. The main problem with books like these is that the author doesn't seem to have experienced much procrastination himself. They literally ignore WHY we even procrastinate in the first place. Now for all the people who tried the principles of Eat That Frog and failed with it (I'm sure most of you), let me tell you why you really procrastinate. The main reason you procrastinate is because it's a defense mechanism for protecting yourself from fear of judgement of your work, fear of failure and imperfection, fear of overwhelm, fear of success, indecisiveness, and basically any negative emotion you associate with a given task. So the problem isn't that you're "lazy", but rather associated feelings of pain to the given task. Your body and mind will do anything to protect your perceived self-worth. The second reason is because procrastination is rewarding. Come on, it's super comfortable to procrastinate (you may feel guilty, but it's way more comfortable and gives you pleasure rather than facing the painful task in front of you). Now that the reason is cleared let's go back to what Brian says: "Just do it!" "Take action, and take action now" "I have to do it". These messages that you send to yourself are very harmful. They basically split your personality in 2 - One is the authoritarian person who says you have to do it and to take action now. The second is your inner child that says "I don't want". When you say "I have to" you split your energy onto 2 opposing forces and then become frozen, frustrated, and you just feel like a victim. Don't worry, there is a way out. Swap "I have to" with "I choose". This is a new force you can direct your energy to, combines the two opposing enemies into 1 directing force. "I choose" makes you feel like you're in control and also influenced by your wants. There are a few other techniques to overcome procrastination, and thought I'd just through one hear. In fact, this idea is taken from the book "The Now Habit" by Neil Fiore, which is WAY BETTER than Eat That Frog. It is really a shame that most people are ignorant to the reasons of procrastination, and Neil really goes deep and is very compassionate. He gives a solution which is so friendly and effective, seriously, it really changed my perspective. I felt the urge to write this since I'm sure many of the people here won't withstand the tips he is giving (especially if you really have problems with procrastination) and I totally advise you to read The Now Habit, you'll thank me later. That is not to say I haven't learned from Eat That Frog, I think it also has some insights. Something I like about it is that it talks about how starting with the hardest task first makes you happier and more satisfied for the rest of the day. I am sure he has a few ideas which are interesting, but literally almost every self help book says quite the same about it. Bottom line - If your problem is PROCRASTINATION in a way that you feel it effects your life in a negative way and you just NEED a cure, then read The Now Habit. Otherwise, if you just want some basic advice for people who are not procrastinators but seek some motivation (that they'll anyways never use) then read Eat That Frog. I hope I helped in some way

Good morning.. I'm Luvander Hollaway. I just watched the video on how to overcome procrastination. I'm an artist, I love the draw, and I have people that want drawings from me. I've agreed to those drawings, but those drawings have never come to existence because of the fear of me not being able to do it. I've had this fear in the past, but when I actually push through and did it, I realized that I was really good at it. Now a similar job, and my subconscious is thinking about everything that can go wrong with it, instead of how good it will look once I finish it. I've been procrastinating this art business for a few years now. I would have some glitches of motivation, but it will be quickly taken down by the fear of failing. After looking at this video, those simple steps that you suggest, really has me thinking differently now. Changing my habits or changing what I do first should I say, telling myself I can do it or getting the big frog out of the picture so that I can see the beauty of that frog on the other side. I just need to know what steps can I possibly take to keep me thinking like this. Do I need to change my scenery? Thank you for listening

I have a history essay that I have putting off for over two weeks, and we were on winter break and that was perfect time to finish it and I barely even started. Now it's due in two weeks, in the midst of school and my other extra curricular's, and I really don't know what to do now. I've decided that with the few hours of the day I have left I'm going to finish my research, write down my three subtopics and actually start on the first paragraph. Hopefully this isn't too big of a goal and I can get at least 90% of it done.

Here are my methods that work that I’ve learned during lockdown. - If it takes less than 5 minutes, do it now. - if you’re debating if you want to do it, tell yourself: fuck it, lets do it But the main thing is this: Im still in school. During lockdown and working at home, I tried to just for one week do all the work monday and tuesday. After that I literally had nothing left to do. I felt such satisfaction when going back to watching youtube and playing video games without the heavy conscience of having work to do, that it changed me. Now I do everything NOW, just to get that feeling of satisfaction. The little tricks might not work for you, but just once, try to do everything there is to do NOW. Even if just for one week. After a couple of days straight of working, you will have less if not nothing left to do. When you get something new to do, you do it the same day and you’re done for the day. I guess this might only work if you’re in school, not sure how well it translates to work life, but I hope it helps some people Still trying to figure out how well this works when you actually go to school (Sorry if the english is bad its not my first language)
