Thanks so much Susan ! Wonderful pastel tutorial !!....Looks like a Monet ! I have some soft Rembrandts, only have used them once in the fall.with a Zoom class which I really enjoyed.....Need a few more lessons and I think too, it all depends on the types of papers we work with as anything else...It makes a difference. And I have a few different ones to try. Was impressed w/ how you took / used your red tones first in this drawing, it really extracts all the colors beautifully. Thank you Carole, It was just regular alcohol that was undiluted. I use the 70% alcohol and I put it in a little spray bottle. It works great.

Lovely painting, I never use underpainting. I have problems selecting the colors.

I like to choose colors that aren't dominant in my reference image :). That's why I use a lot of warm tones for landscape painting (such as golds, reds, pinks) ;) Happy Painting!
