Great video. Could you please do 1 of your short vids on painting battle dmg on space marines - chips and scratches using sponge/brush. Cheers.

Lovely finish. These new terminators are great, I’ve picked some up mostly just to paint.

Stunning work Spencer! Like the tip on using a cotton bud as completely plastering my ear dogs in grime is intimidating 🤣

Thank you mate! Yeah for sure, spraying grime all over the place is a bit stress inducing for sure 😂 a lot more controlled this way! And better for letting the highlights shine through!

Looks great Spen! Those new terminator models are amazing. Couple of questions if you don't mind. Do you think the acrylic washes are necessary if you're just going to panel line with enamels later? I tend to only bother with the panel liner so I'm genuinely curious if I'm missing a vital step... And what was the idea behind the ultra Matt varnish prior to the panel lining? Would a gloss not be better for reduced surface tension? Then Matt down later for aesthetics. I guess that way is difficult to maintain the shine in your metallics but I'd love to know your reasoning.. thanks for the videos, I hope you keep these longer form tutorials coming. My entire nids army is based on your tutorial so your stuff really helps 😄

Thanks very much! And some great questions there! I find that if I just use the panel line on the metallics they don’t get the same depth of colour as when using the washes. You still get good definition but I find adding that extra was step of an acrylic wash adds thst extra level to the depth of them, so definitely not vital, but just something I find helps. With regards to the gloss varnish for the enamel wash, I don’t find it really necessary for this style of painting. If we were going for a super clean model then I would 100% recommend but here we don’t need so it’s saves time and as you say, it helps with maintaining the shine of the metallics That is so awesome to hear! I’m glad you like the longer form videos! I’ll be sure to keep them coming

really good m8, do you not need to seal the arid earth etc with watered down pva (or something similar) or does the mig mud do that? sorry if that's a dumb question lol

No dumb questions here mate! The mud generally holds it all together when it's dried, but if you're adding in some bigger bits like twigs or stuff you can use some watered down PVA and that works a treat
