In this video I'll show how to paint realistic Elephant skin in acrylics. I'll explain the layering process, the brushes and best techniques to use to achieve a photo realistic painting. Painting Elephant or Rhino skin is dependant on good contrast. There needs to be a range of highlights, midtones and shadows to build up the three dimensional look of the skin texture. The brush technique and how we use the brushes is also important.
