Always preferred a proper grey - After all, the fluff does refer to the Wolves' armour as "Storm Grey'.

Awesome work. Im going to try this myself. The guy at the end was awesome. Is that a model you can buy or is it a conversion?
@RaddiCraft4 жыл бұрын
Thanks! It's a conversion based on the Sergeant Jovan model.

amazing tutorial ! the miniatures looks astonishing ,but i have 2 questions 1 is it hard to fix mistakes on this kind of airbrushed gradient ? 2 is the process hard to reproduce without an airbrush and just paint brushes, or is it something you don't recommend ?
@RaddiCraft4 жыл бұрын
thank you! Fixing mistakes can be tricky, with the Wolves I usually just place battle damage in the areas where I've made mistakes. The process is harder to reproduce with an airbrush if you want exactly the same transitions etc., but if you're happy with a flatter basecoat then Dawnstone gets you pretty close!

Hi, the model at the end had a very cool, Cape and shoulder fur, where did they come from
@RaddiCraft4 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Cape is from Chaos Marauders, shoulder fur from Thunderwolf Cavalry I think, not 100% sure on that.

Such a helpful video. You rule! Do you use this painting method with all of your minis, or just with the ones that will end up for showcase?
@RaddiCraft4 жыл бұрын
Thanks, glad you like it! I've only really painted display-level Wolves after I came up with this recipe, but am going to paint some stuff that's more tabletop soon and I was planning on simplifying the recess shading and edge highlights for them at least 😄

Nice work! I love the grey color scheme and would love to implement it! Do you have any advice using this color scheme with GW contrast product line? I.e. which paints, technique, zenith highlight, etc. Thanks!
@RaddiCraft4 жыл бұрын
I've not tried it personally, but I think Basilicanum Grey over a white zenithal prime might do the job. Let me know if you try it!

This is exactly what I've been looking for, tutorials on painting Gray power armor are few and far between and the ones that do exists look boring. I am also in the process of painting Ragnar Blackmane, As well as the rest of Myspace wolves army. I also purchase an airbrush and M deciding if and how I want to use it to paint grey armor, any other tips and advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm trying to figure out how to give a nice Gray armor look that still has high contrast and then I will be doing weathering and chipping and battle damage. Thanks again for the video, I liked and subscribed! Cheers! ~Lupus Insidias

Man i have always felt the bluish colour was boring and didnt feel nordic nor powerful but this gray makes me feel the opposite and the wolves are a force to fear
@Asbestos914 жыл бұрын
Hello, do you have an tip for me to achieve a smiliar result without an airbrush :)
@RaddiCraft4 жыл бұрын
I'd say basecoat using Dawnstone, do the brush steps as in the video. It's a bit darker overall but that's how I used to do mine before I staryed airbrushing 😄

@RaddiCraft4 жыл бұрын
Dawnstone basecoat, rest of the steps same should give a somewhat similar result! That's how I used to do these before. I'll see if I can do something like that for a video at some point mate :)

Dude, the Space Wolves are baby blue because of Prospero. The ground micro bits of red Thousand Sons armor just kind of gave the grey a warm hue. However the Rubric of Arhiman then warped the Thousand Sons. This also affected the bits left on the Space Wolves armor, giving it a baby blue look. Power armor is often reused for centuries being passed down from fallen marines to the younger. Originally only veterans from Prospero had the blue, but as armor got passed on it proliferated throughout the legion. This then lead to the Iron Priests forging new armors and giving them a blue paint. And if you made it this far, then congratulations. As all of this is bullshit, but I think it sounds fun and could totally be cannon for all new 40K fan would know. 🖕😂🖕
