Thanks so much, The info goes up on the website only now. Whilst a lot of the audience are here for Imperium content, The channel is getting pigeoon-holed into Imperium stuff only whicl will mean as soon as that collection is over. this channel becomes redundant, instead, I'm using this channel for tutorial content and growing the audience that way, which was always the roots of what FauxHammer.com was for. it was just imperium that made us famous.

I don't, I've tried a ton of things. pigment fixer, which just seems to wash it away and make it clump. airbrush varnish which blows it off the model. since I donn't paint armies for play, I just don't fix it.

with the streaking grime, do you need to varnish the model first. also when using the q-tip/cotton bud to remove it are you applying thinner to said q-tip/cotton bud?

hiya, you have the choice of applying varnish. if you don't apply it, it will begin to stain the flat colours underneath - not so much with metallics as they generally have a harder (non porous) finish anyway. And yes, mineral spirits on the cotton but.

There really isn’t one. Perhaps in tone you’ll get something similar but Gw metallics aren’t typically as good fir drybrushing.

Black Magic Craft made his own pigment powder by shaving off chalk pastels. Might be a suitable alternative. Make sure it's not oil pastels tho lol
