The best finish is use the paint sprayer. Brush leave brush strokes, roller leave orange peel.

Explanations are pretty much needed on these videos so anyone watching understands why it's done that way....for example open time ect....things that change depending on type of coating......and surely the paint needs laying off after rolling ? The rolled areas,will have a different texture(orange peel) compared to flatter brushed areas

Thank you for sharing. Why does oil based satin go yellow? Is it the oil in it? I am going to use Dulux self undercoating water based satin. Is this any good? The doors etc are already painted and sound, just gone creamy.

There is 1 important thing missing in this nice paint job: how do you paint the bottom edge of the door? I usually take down the whole doors, line up the bottom edges & give them 2 coats before anything else; paint the door frames the same day.

99% of Painters don't seal the top and bottom of the doors, if they can get away with it. New Construction or installed New Door is the time to seal. You're exactly right. In time, the doors will warp if left unsealed. Door Manufacturer Rep comes out; sticks a mirror on the floor and shows homeowners where the Painter failed them

Use an Alkyd in a satin finish for doors, lays out like oil but cleans with water, dries hard without yellowing. Gone are the days of the mandatory semi-gloss door and trim, use satin. Such a classy look

I'm in Texas with a south-facing front door. A Latex (water-based) paint will usually help protect against cracking.

Just use a regular large roller and don’t overload it , it’s painful watching that little foam thing.. I’ve painted hundreds of these doors 🙂

Yusuf Abdulghani ...I would say the edges absolutely because of burrs and preventing buildup to prevent problems with tight jambs...most doors are pre-primed these days and surface only need be sanded if the desired result is a smooth tactile finish...a good dusting and/or damp wipe should be sufficient for adhesion given the door is contaminant free...
