Hi , I’m also returning to the hobby after about 20 years away 👍👍👍 I started off painting some space marines in my favourite chapter colours of the Salamanders. But currently struggling with the edge high lighting. I’ve put this down mainly to the paint I was using , which has little pigment when watered down (50/50). I ended up using it to dry brush the model , which added more depth to the base colour, all I need now is to find a paint I’m happy with to do the edge highlights and practice practice practice 😇😇😇

I followed your tutorial for my space marines. They turned out great. You took the intimidation factor out of painting for someone totally new to the world of WH40K. I'm attempting the Terminator Squad next. Thanks for the awesome videos.

always appreciate a batch painting tutorial, especially as someone who has a lot of paint debt. to follow on to your plastic shotglass as a suggestion (to others) if you live next to a pharmacy/chemist, or you take medication on the regular - prescription pill bottles are a fantastic handle for painting, and they make bigger bottles for 90 day supplies that can hold up to a dreadnought on them if you're feeling confident!

If you spray base coat it in macreg blue, you need to paint ankther layer with brush as well? Thanks
@TableTopReadyYouTubeАй бұрын
yes I would always do a base colour first. undercoats don't always match the colour in the pots
@michaelvasconcelos1788Ай бұрын
Would putting agrax earthshade over parts of this model be a good idea after all this detail? to make it look like theyve been out in combat for a while?
@TableTopReadyYouTubeАй бұрын
Agrax earthshade isn't great for creating wethering, its there for to bring out details. theres a lot of techniques for weathering that I havn't really covered in a video. I would just go and do your research and see how others are doing it :)
@HdhakdhdjАй бұрын
Question! For priming I've noticed you only used the blue as your base. I've seen other tutorials where the black spray is used first and then the blue spray. What do you thing about that method?
@TableTopReadyYouTubeАй бұрын
its upto you, personally its not needed, a macragge blue undercoat is enough
@HdhakdhdjАй бұрын
@TableTopReadyKZbin thanks! What do you use to seal / varnish your minis once they're done?
@tigozijlmans4581Ай бұрын
Great video! what would be the difference in creating a glaze with water instead of Lahmian medium?
@TableTopReadyYouTubeАй бұрын
not a lot to be honest, you can get a lot thinner with lahmian medium than you can with water, but water is fine in my experiance
@ToscytheАй бұрын
Hi guys, quick question. After using the Macragge Blue spray for undercoating. Du you paint the figure with a brush and Macragge Blue Base colour for what reason? To get the parts painted, which where not coated 100%? Thx
@TableTopReadyYouTubeАй бұрын
yes I would paint a base coat of Macragge blue even though we use a Macragge spray. this is because the sprays don't match the pot colours and its always just better to paint a base coat regardless. the spray is just there to help the paint stick
@ToscytheАй бұрын
@ thank you very mich man. I saw your channel recently and will visit your Patreon soon. Your work here is awesome and professionell. Keep up the good work man 🦾💯

Question: is it better to prime my minis with a base color (in this case blue for the ultramarines) then painting the details and highlights OR it would be better if I print the minis Blue from the start?
@Walican132Ай бұрын
Better to base coat, especially when fixing mistakes.
@TableTopReadyYouTubeАй бұрын
I always reccomend painting a base colour, even if its the same colour as the undercoat. the sprays aren't a match for the colour in the pots
