Interesting paint scheme came out very nice could see going with a lot of different choices for this mini. Nice prize to that lucky winner.

friend. I became a fan of your work, I'm Brazilian and there is nothing like it here, I always wanted to learn how to make dioramas and things like that and I'm inspired by you to follow my dream. Thank you for sharing a little of your acquaintance with us.

I don't even paint miniatures but I absolutely enjoy the content of your videos. You have some great attention to detail, clear explanations, and a great pace to your editing to keep it interesting and informative. 10/10 Great job!

Ah, this is what I subscribed for, 25 minutes of insanely detailed painting that just gets more and more satisfying with each layer. With the amount of time and care that went into this, that has got to be a $100 miniature by now. Oh and by the way turquoise is pronounced terk-kois. It rhymes with jerk-boys, which you are not, because you're amazing!

Thank you and nice one one the 'Jerkuoise' haha , that should be written like that in the 'English-for Europeans-for Dummies guide' ;) 100$ worth miniature you say? oh man i send it to a subscriber as a giveaway......all the things i could have bought! ( Kidding he earned it ) Cheers my friend ;)

Hi Papercuts! I usually go for dark and grimy paintjobs myself, but I absolutely love the eighties cartoon villain paint scheme and soft gradients you used on this model. Really elevates it to another level! And the display base is insanely beautifu as well, I love how you just mention it quickly. Oh, by the way, I made this kick-ass display base as well...

Hi Paepercuts, Great video, excellent miniature and custom base as well!!! Thank you once more! :) I think, it would be great to issue video of creation of the base (castle), if possible. Cheers! :)

Rainbows aren't scary... but he's still going to kill you! Awesome model. :) Note: the best is the basest, no wait. I love dioramas/display bases more than anything. P.S. It needed zombies coming out the bars/sewer, and the base needed to have a better fit, so you can't see the black. (?)
@Paepercuts7 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Yes those would be great indeed, i'll see if i can summon some zombies next time ;)

Yay. Once again, sorry if I wasn't clear, it seems, to me, that your channel is one of the best of its type, so, wonderful work. It's important to say this because most channels are either bad or dead (yours is dead in a good way (zombie joke)). ;) P.S: zombies are cool but vampires are the best things in the world. I hope to see a vampire model at some point. :D

Afternoon! Thanks for the video, you have quite the talent. I am curious though, what effect does the oil paint wash provide over the typical acrylic paint washes?
@Paepercuts7 жыл бұрын
Hi there and thank you :) Well an oil wash gives you more control basicly. Once dry, you can sort of re-activate the wash and clean the surfaces you want using white spirit and a make-up sponge, revealing your previous paint layers and only leave the shade where you want. Acrylic washes basicly stain the whole surface so it acts more like a filter, darkening everything. Only downside is they dry a bit glossy so you'll have to finish with a matte or satin varnish coat. I have had some requests for an in depth video on how to use oil washes i will try to make that in the coming time. Cheers!

Oh, that makes a lot of sense. Thank you for your fast reply. Keep up the good work!

Hi Paepercuts, your videos have an incredible high quality for just "painting tutorials". Would you please tell me how you achieve such a good quality in filming? (Camera type, distant to the miniature, light sources) That would be very helpfull for me, because I decided to make some new videos as well. The old videos I uploaded were just filmed with my phone :(
@Paepercuts7 жыл бұрын
Hey man thanks for the compliment, i'll be happy to help you out :) For my camera i use a Sony HDR-CX240 camera which i have on a small tripod. I place this in front of me while filming. This allows you to zoom in much closer to the mini, it depends on what i'm doing on how much distance i zoom i play around with it. You could alternatively film over your shoulder but that'll require a bigger tripod and a stronger lens for close up work. For lightsources i use 2 of the daylight lamps i show in my video i did a few months ago, 1 from above and 1 from the side (I filmed my workspace in that video for a bit, you may want to have a peek at it) I've had some people telling me they've also had succes with White Cool LED bulbs aswell but i haven't tried them out yet. Hope this helped and looking forward to seeing more videos from you!

Hello, thank you for the great videos, they are awesome. super stupid question.......... are these 28mm models?
@Paepercuts6 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Yes they are 28mm, most GW fantasy mini's are heroic scale though so they are usually a bit bigger than let's say 28mm historical figures
@benhowarth94016 жыл бұрын
wooow, you have awesome skill to be able to paint that scale with such detail. thanks for posting them.

which airbrush do u use? and what radius are u using? or are u using several?
@Paepercuts7 жыл бұрын
Hi, for precision airbrushing i mainly use my Harder & Steenbeck Infinity with a 0,15 needle. I also use an Evolution with a 0,2 needle but that is mainly for priming and varnishing, so i can work faster without having to clean them as much. The Infinity is the best one by far it has a very good responsive trigger. I usually use around 15-20 PSI with well diluted paints for close-up work. Good luck!
@martinthewarrior50167 жыл бұрын
is there any reason that u use non-metallic rather than metallic paints? does non-metallic have any advantages over metallic, or is it just personal preference?
@Paepercuts7 жыл бұрын
Hi there, Well with fantasy figures i personally prefer non metallic for certain parts like armor and large weapons. It also allows you to place your own shadows and lights better (which is also more challenging). With true metallics they will reflect where ever the light is coming from so it's a bit easier and faster. Both have their uses and like you said it comes down to personal preference. Thanks for your comment!
