How to Paint Your Boat with Interlux Brightside: Part 2 - Applying Nonskid and Top Coat

In this episode, I will give the deck one last look over and clean up any cosmetic things I missed. Then I completely wipe down the deck with acetone to prep for the primer. Then I lay down 2 coats of primer and show you how to mix with thinner and roll it out.

Great video Torture to watch The whole process is kinda backwards First off use a 2 part poly that way it will cure hard. Pour the paint and smooth it out The constant dipping in the pan well you just do not get enough paint for sand and good coverage for finish. The thought of the thinner going off that fast well it is expensive plain old paint thinner. You have plenty of time. Sanding between coats is not needed. If that super expensive poly wont stick well it is time for primer with color. Last thought is get some fresh air in the garage. The fumes are extremely harmful and each time you do a cleaning or mixing - painting you are compounding exposure to brain cell killing fumes. They add up each day so the next exposure is much worse.

Hi About to paint with Bildgekote , can you give update how it is holding up ? Has it hardened overtime to resist abrasion ?
