This is awesome! Very insightful! Been looking EVERYWHERE for a good tutorial on how to customize at-home espresso machines. Looking into customizing my Calphalon TempIQ machine some day...

Damn this looks good. The Luccas need to come like this tbh.

Wow, excellent presentation. You were to the point without any unnecessary blathering and very complete. The end result looks fantastic. So it's been about a year since you did this. How is it holding up? Any dings or scratches from daily use so far? I'm considering the purchase of a Lucca A53. Off subject, but how much to you love the A53?
@laurenturori63003 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much, I’m glad you liked it! And it looks exactly the same as the day I did it! :) easy to wipe off coffee splatters, and the sealer I used protects it from dings and scratches :) I love our LUCCA, this one has the option to be plumbed in or just a countertop reservoir, and we love how the water reservoir is located on the front face of the machine and that we can reload water from the front, so we don’t have to pull it out from under the cabinets when the water runs low. It has a low profile so sits nicely with plenty of space under our upper cabinets, on our kitchen counter. Very happy with our machine :)

@@laurenturori6300 I’m sold. As soon as I get back home from my extended vacation I’m ordering one.

@@laurenturori6300 It just dawned on me that you said your A53 has the option to be plumbed in. Are you saying you can still plumb yours in even though it also has a reservoir? It was my understanding that that wasn't an option but rather you have to decide whether you want a reservoir or a plumbed in model at time of purchase but that you can't after the fact change the reservoir model to a plumbed in one, or vice versa.

Thanks for this video! I can’t wait to try it. I was wondering if this is more of a Rae Dunn pottery “milky” white or a stark white?
@laurenturori63003 жыл бұрын
Hi! I’m not really sure how to classify it, it’s pretty stark, just pure white paint from krylon or whatever spray paint brand I used, they don’t have too much in terms of selection of whites! Whatever the white is, it definitely goes with the white grinder and other white accessories I have in my kitchen!

Thanks for the video, now I am confident I can do it too. Quick question, how many layer did you spray on it?

Great shiny presentation, but misses the point of how the finished paint performs. That said, i like the very helpful methodology in this otherwise great vid. I have a two-group commercial machine that I'd like to paint...and I'm less able to take the $ loss if its a $ loser after painting. Big Exobar machine de España. '90s likely. I'm sure the internet will be my friend for answering these questions: Was it actually problematic keeping clean and tidy with the Rustolium enamel? And how about heat? Any cracking or pealing from heat and cleaning, etc. I'll continue researching, but it'd be a great follow up vid about performance over a couple years. All my unsolicited pointlessness is free! Woot.

Hey! This was an amazing video for me because I've been wanting to do almost the same thing, the only thing is I wan't to paint my chrome panels too, do you know if this technique will also work for the chrome?
@alexaguillon79043 жыл бұрын
You need to get them powder coated.
@Leapoffaith43 жыл бұрын
@@alexaguillon7904 Actually I've found options that work other than powder coating, thank you though.
@laurenturori63003 жыл бұрын
Hi! I don’t think it would work with the paint I used, because the chrome pieces get hot on my machine. I I am sure there is a appliance paint out there that would probably work. I reached out to someone who does powder coating, and they estimated it would cost 150 to get the chrome panels powder coated, which I might do in the future. I was confident in my ability to paint the black panels white and knew that it would look good, however I’m definitely not confident in my ability to spray paint the chrome! Let me know what you end up doing though and what your method is :)

@@Leapoffaith4 And what were the "options" you went with?
@Leapoffaith43 жыл бұрын
@@michaelerbreviews Hey! So as of right now I have not chosen anything yet but I did also reach out to a local powder coating company in my area and they quoted me $125 max for the job, but said that it may even be less when they see it in person. I haven't decided if this is the route I want to take or if I am going to be only painting the sides (when I actually take the time to do it) Something I did just do is I custom ordered a walnut slayer style handle for the machine at less than half of the price of the Clive coffee wood handles, and I also ordered a walnut dresser knob that I'll be replacing the steam knob with.
