Thank you very much, my daughter an me love your tutorials but unfortunately we can not get this technic working and cannot figure out why :D why my (same) colors just overlay the whole image after pressing it on the gelly? I used a standard printer paper to transfer, could that cause the problem? I always don't get any imprint of the image on the gelly, just complete clean as the color gets absorbed by the transfer paper... many thanks madame.
@NitsaCreativeStudio3 жыл бұрын
Sorry to hear that but there could be many reasons why the transfer doesn't work. Try to change things in your process, sometimes it can be something simple like too much or too little paint. Also try watching this video I made recently: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gZ7HkHyibLuIhdU

You were consistently successful with these image transfers. How do you keep the image from getting smears when you lift up the magazine page?
@NitsaCreativeStudio2 жыл бұрын
It might smear if you use too much paint. Another reason might be that your paint is watery? If so, try switching to heavy body paints.

How hard do you press with the beater when transferring onto the blank paper?

I put some pressure, it's something you can experiment with. Sometimes I just put a heavy book on top until it dries, and this helps the transfer.

When I pull a print off with a thin layer of paint after letting the first layer dry it never seems to pull off cleanly - quite a lot stays on the gelli pad. What should I be doing differently? My pad is new, I'm wondering if it will work better when I've used it more?Thanks.
@NitsaCreativeStudio3 жыл бұрын
It might, and sometimes I find that even warm dry weather makes it difficult to lift the image off the plate. Maybe try not to let your image dry all the way and lift it when its still somewhat wet 👍
@cjlivoc44203 жыл бұрын
@@NitsaCreativeStudio thanks for getting back to me. That seems like a good thing to try!
@dianecarroll66633 жыл бұрын
This was such a good question because I was experiencing the same thing not all the paint lifting off the jelly plate or not lifting up at all I thought perhaps it was the paint I was using and it also seemed the more opaque the paint the less the image would transfer. So I started adding gel medium to the top layer layer I sometimes try to spritzing it with water before I lifted it LOL. But I think it’s a good suggestion perhaps not to let it dry all the way will try it

What if all the paint stays on magazine paper?
@NitsaCreativeStudio4 жыл бұрын
Hi, it could be a number of reasons. Might be too much paint or maybe the wrong kind of paint. Try to change things around and play with different elements in your process 😀
@dianecarroll66633 жыл бұрын
I copied a lot of photographs at Staples which I assumed was a giant laser printer. Not one image was I able to pull. All the paint stayed on the paper. So I’m thinking it’s probably something that Staples is using. But as you suggested sometimes it’s good to change the paint or try a different magazine.

What a beauty of ART copy technique !! I love it!! Will it work with family photos that I'll print on Chromo pages?
@NitsaCreativeStudio4 жыл бұрын
Yes! You can make cool family monoprints by printing your photos with with a laser printer. As far as the chromo paper goes, it might be a little too heavy, but you can print on a standard printer paper. It doesn't need to be glossy as long as you print it with a laser printer.
