Buff dudes are truly the most underrated fitness channel on youtube. Sure they're not exactly showing anything new. But they describe things in such specific detail with key points and examples its much easier to learn, as well as retain the information for when i'm actually in the gym. Don't get me wrong I love other channels too, but its refreshing to get something that isn't just "Grab the bar at shoulder width, lift it to your chest and you're done!"

I never got injured from dead-lifts nor squats, but last month, I was doing the back rows I and felt a big stretch in my back. It was crazy I could not even bend down. It felt like being an old geezer. I was wearing a belt when I was doing it, and I think the belt put more stress on me rather than helping and supporting.I was so thankful nothing pop up, it was only a stretch. Now I'm back to gym with full motivations.

When the guy who created them talks about he mentioned that you back should be no more than parallel during the rep and your mid back is actually supposed to be slightly rounded during the start and end of the lift
@paulquick21699 жыл бұрын
I disagree. You want to hold the back in neutral throughout. Set the back first and contract the hamstrings, glutes, and back muscles to stabilize the back position, then lock grip tight on bar, then lift. Take an instant to reset with each rep.

Can't resist mentioning an awesome variation: reverse the grip, look up, pull the bar so close to your shins that the bar is lightly touching them as you pull the bar up to the knees. Only then do you explode up, with head looking up and a very straight back. Squeeze the bar tightly into the lowest part of your sternum or slightly below and hold contracted there for a count of about 1 or 2 secs. Let straight down slowly with back still straight, feeling the burn in your spinal erectors and lats: those muscles are hit by this variation much more than any other bent over and is an excellent adjunct to regular bent overs, which hit the upper lats and traps and teres major etc. much more. This reverse grip variation is best done with very light weight, very slowly and with perfect form. Try to use a bunch of 10 lb. plates as needed so you can go down further, or stand on a platform.

If you set the pins on a squat rack to knee height will it make the exercise safer yet still effective for young high school athletes? I worry they will yank the weight off the ground in the full range of motion.
