Alternatively you can use MAME for this, so this is heavily pointless if done on MAME. Because you can play as Gill and can have every opponent become Gill as well; it works on the cheats section. I did the same on Super Turbo where I only fought Dictator on 11 stages.

@Lucificaner posted that if you wait till the demo uses the P2 to select a character and follow the glitch, you’ll be able to battle other characters…either this is false or I did something wrong. I watched the demo a bit longer, and it DID show P2 pick a character, so I hit the button just as the oval appeared and the glitch will work, just with opposite controllers, so everything checks out to this point, but despite eventually being able to play as Gill with the P2 controller rather than P1, the game still forces you to battle other Gill CPU…..I wish people wouldn’t post stuff like this, or at least wish they could be more elaborate…the post isn’t very descriptive

lol I have no idea, but it does work on the 30th anniversary port, which is the arcade port….im just trying to figure out how to play as Gill and fight a CPU that’s NOT Gill…but yeah, you can play Gill vs CPU Gill or play local 2P with Gill vs any character BUT Gill (the glitch won’t allow the multiplayer mirror match)

what exact moment do you have to press start at the versus screen?

Doesn’t matter when, as long as you did all prior steps right; you should be able to press start on 2 player in the Vs screen and in the match

If you don’t want to deal with multiple Gill(s) it’s better to wait until CPU uses 2P and press start on 1P controller (do the glitch) and just play as Alex until you reach Gill then press start on 2P and you’ll end up being Gill but against normal opponents.(not the Gill multiverse)

This is just not true at all…..or at least u aren’t explaining this well. I waited for the CPU demo to pick a character as P2 which means watching the demo quite a bit longer. The glitch itself works, you’ll play as Gill with the P2 controller, but it’s still against infinite Gill CPU…..false until proven otherwise

If you followed the instructions, once you get to Gill, and you’re about you fight him, on player 2 (or 1 I don’t remember the vid) you press start to interrupt the scene and the glitch should play out

I actually did this in 30th anniversary; just make sure you do everything precise but yes it works in 30th and normal Sf 3rd Strike.

@@kyokusanagi1170 I also just watched and still don't get it. Like here is what I got . I play at an arcade get to fill and that's when I press start on player two. Was I supposed to pick the first character that's offered do I hold a button . Just say the trick ,we don't care how or why it works.
